DeFi Development Corp. (Nasdaq: DFDV) has added approximately 22,070 SOL and SOL equivalents to its treasury, bringing its total holdings to approximately 2.59 million tokens, or 2,586,282 SOL as of October 12, 2026.
According to the official announcement published on October 12, the latest addition was worth approximately $2.43 million. The company said its SOL treasury has grown by about 12% since its second-quarter earnings report on August 12. The increase reflects the company’s continued accumulation of SOL over the past two months, alongside staking rewards generated through its Solana operations.
Rather than focusing on short-term price changes, DeFi Development says it remains committed to adding more SOL to its treasury. Chief Executive Officer Joseph Onorati said the recent market swings have not changed that approach. “We don’t change our conviction or our commitment to accumulating SOL on a short-term volatility basis,” Onorati said.
The company also runs validator nodes on the Solana network. These help process transactions and support the network, while allowing the company to earn staking rewards. These rewards provide another way for its SOL holdings to grow alongside new purchases.
The latest addition follows an earlier purchase of approximately 19,000 SOL in August. Together, the purchases show how the company has continued to add SOL even as market conditions have changed.
$300 million CHAD program could fund more purchases
DeFi Development has also introduced a $300 million at-the-market offering program for CHAD, its preferred stock. The program allows the company to sell shares over time and use the money raised to support its business plans, including further SOL purchases.
However, the $300 million represents the amount the company can offer through the program, not money it has already collected. Chief Strategy Officer Dan Kang said the funding option could help the company increase its SOL holdings per common share without issuing more common shares.
CHAD also recorded strong trading activity during the week ending October 9, reaching record highs and approaching its $10 stated amount, according to the company. This happened while SOL prices were falling.
The preferred stock currently has a 13% annual dividend rate based on its $10 stated amount. This equals $1.30 per share each year at the current rate. Payments are made on business days when declared by the company.
Tokenized stocks and stablecoins expand on Solana
DeFi Development has also pointed to new financial services on Solana as part of the broader ecosystem developments supporting its treasury strategy.
On October 8, Securitize launched Securitize Stocks, allowing eligible investors in the United States, the European Union, and other permitted regions to access entitlements linked to U.S.-listed stocks through Solana.
According to Securitize, the entitlements are backed one-to-one by underlying shares. The company also cited Samsung’s announcement about stablecoin functionality for 82 million Galaxy devices in the United States.
Despite these developments, DeFi Development’s shares fell 4.55% to $4.30, bringing its market capitalization to approximately $140.4 million, according to data from Yahoo Finance as of 19:04 UTC.
