The much awaited upcoming KGF:Chapter 2 will enter the metaverse before it hits the big screen. The producer of the film, Hombale Films, is creating avatars in the metaverse known as “KGFVerse”.
KGFVerse is a digital avatar-based metaverse which allows the fans of this super-hit franchise to build games and virtual environments. The sale of the avatars will begin on April 7.
The film franchise stars Yash, who is better known by his dramatis personae ‘Rocky Bhai’. The filmstar further enticed his fans for the metaverse by tweeting his excitement about the release.
Speaking about this move, Vijay Kiragandur, the founder of Hombale Films, said “Metaverse is the new frontier of the Internet and an innovative way to engage with audiences and movie fans…we are exploring this space to enable our fans to interact with elements of both chapters of KGF in the metaverse.”
To begin, fans must obtain a token of the El-Dorado book, on which the film franchise is based, in order to gain admission to the KGFVerse. Owners can mint this token on April 14, and a few lucky fans will win a unique avatar of Rocky Bhai.
The token also provides fans entry to exclusive membership clubs, and gain access to avatars, props and land parcels of the move in the form of NFTs. The developers will then be able to build games using these NFTs.
Members of the KGFVerse will get exclusive access to NFTs and surprise airdrops. They will also get chances to physically attend the events related to the movie.
Hombale Film has promoted this movie in an unhackneyed manner generating a lot of buzz and chatter around an already much-beloved franchise. The trailer of KGF:Chapter 2 has garnered more than 150 million views since its release just 9 days ago.
The tollywood industry has been increasingly using the Metaverse and NFT market to promote its movies. Another South Indian actor Prabhas launched NFTs of its upcoming movie “Radhe Shyam” just a month ago.
