The crypto market enters the week of October 19–25 with attention divided between US corporate earnings, economic data and scheduled digital-asset developments. The Federal Reserve is in its communications blackout ahead of its October 27–28 policy meeting, leaving investors to assess incoming economic releases and corporate guidance without the usual flow of public commentary from Fed officials. The Federal Reserve’s blackout calendar lists October 17–29 as the restricted period surrounding the meeting.
The week’s main economic releases include US housing data, weekly jobless claims and Friday’s flash purchasing managers’ indexes (PMIs). Earnings from Meta, Tesla, and Netflix add another source of potential market volatility, while scheduled token unlocks involving LayerZero (ZRO), GRAM, Humanity (H), Avalanche (AVAX), and Plasma (XPL) put circulating supply in focus. CME Group has also announced plans to introduce Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) futures, subject to regulatory review.
Scheduled token unlocks indicate that tokens are due to become available under vesting arrangements; they do not mean recipients will sell them. Likewise, economic consensus estimates can differ from actual results, and neither the data nor the market response is guaranteed. Meta, Tesla, and Netflix Earnings Take Center Stage
Netflix is scheduled to report its third-quarter results on Tuesday, October 20, while Meta and Tesla are due to report on Wednesday, October 21. Their earnings may offer investors updates on consumer demand, advertising, artificial intelligence spending, and electric-vehicle operations. The releases are scheduled corporate events, however, and their implications for crypto markets will depend on the results and broader market conditions.
Netflix’s results on October 20 will provide an update on its streaming business and advertising strategy. Investors can access the company’s financial releases through the Netflix investor relations website.
Meta is scheduled to publish its third-quarter results after the market closes on October 21, followed by a conference call at 4:30 p.m. ET. Its report will be watched for updates on advertising performance and investment in artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Tesla is also scheduled to report on October 21, after the market closes, with a webcast to discuss its results. Its quarterly figures will provide an update on vehicle deliveries, revenue, margins, and energy storage.
Although these companies operate outside the crypto industry, their results may contribute to broader assessments of technology-sector valuations, risk appetite, and investment in AI infrastructure.
Federal Reserve Blackout and U.S. Economic Data
The Federal Reserve’s pre-meeting communications blackout is in effect ahead of the October 27–28 Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting. During this period, Fed officials generally refrain from public commentary on monetary policy. The blackout does not prevent markets from responding to economic data, corporate earnings, or other developments.
Economic releases during the week of October 19–25 will offer additional information about the U.S. economy ahead of the policy decision. Housing data, including September residential construction figures and pending home sales, are scheduled for October 20. Investors can check the U.S. Census Bureau’s construction data and the National Association of Realtors’ pending home sales releases for the relevant figures.
Initial U.S. jobless claims are scheduled for Thursday, October 22, providing a regular update on applications for unemployment benefits.
On Friday, October 23, S&P Global is scheduled to publish preliminary October purchasing managers’ indexes for U.S. manufacturing and services. The flash PMIs provide an early indication of business activity and are closely watched for signs of changes in economic momentum.
These releases will arrive before the October 27–28 Fed meeting, but they will not by themselves establish whether policymakers will change interest rates. Their significance will depend on the readings, revisions, and how they compare with market expectations.
ZRO, GRAM, and Other Token Unlocks
Several scheduled token unlocks fall within the October 19–25 period. According to DeFiLlama’s token unlock tracker, LayerZero’s ZRO unlock is scheduled for October 20, while TON’s GRAM and Humanity’s H unlocks are listed for October 23. Avalanche’s AVAX unlock is listed for October 24, followed by Plasma’s XPL unlock on October 25.
DeFiLlama’s October 19 snapshot valued the scheduled GRAM unlock at approximately $49.23 million, ZRO at $44.77 million, H at $16.79 million, AVAX at $16.23 million, and XPL at $10.88 million. These are estimates based on token prices and the tracker’s unlock data at the time of the snapshot, not fixed cash values. The estimates may change as token prices move or unlock information is updated.
A token unlock makes previously restricted tokens eligible for release under a project’s vesting schedule. It does not necessarily mean that recipients will sell those tokens immediately. The potential market effect depends on factors including the amount released relative to circulating supply, recipient behavior, liquidity, and prevailing demand. The unlock dates are therefore supply events to monitor, not reliable standalone signals for price direction.
CME’s Planned BCH and UNI Futures
CME Group has announced plans to launch futures tied to Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap on October 19, subject to regulatory review. In its September 22 announcement, the exchange said the contracts would be available in standard and micro sizes.
The proposed Bitcoin Cash contracts cover 250 BCH and 25 BCH for the standard and micro products, respectively. The Uniswap contracts cover 10,000 UNI and 1,000 UNI. CME said the additions would expand its single-asset cryptocurrency futures lineup and provide more tools for managing price exposure.
The announcement confirms CME’s plan, but the launch remains subject to regulatory review. The arrival of additional regulated derivatives can give market participants more ways to hedge or gain exposure to crypto assets without directly holding the underlying tokens. However, the existence of a futures contract does not by itself establish institutional demand, guarantee trading volumes, or determine whether a related spot exchange-traded product will be approved.
Plan ₿ Forum and Other Crypto Developments
The Plan ₿ Forum is scheduled for October 23–24 in Lugano, Switzerland. The official event website describes the conference as a gathering focused on Bitcoin adoption, economics, financial freedom and related technology. Its speaker list includes Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino, Blockstream CEO Adam Back, and other industry figures.
Additionally, Money20/20 USA continues in Las Vegas through October 21, bringing together companies across payments and financial technology. The event’s official website provides its programme and schedule.
In New York, XRP Ledger-related developer events are also scheduled during the week, including a developer bootcamp and an AI and fintech hackathon.
What to Watch This Week
The week of October 19–25 combines a Federal Reserve blackout, major technology earnings, economic surveys, and several scheduled token unlocks. Meta, Tesla, and Netflix headline the corporate calendar, while Friday’s flash PMIs offer a timely read on business activity before the next FOMC meeting.
For crypto markets, CME’s planned Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures, the ZRO and GRAM unlocks, and the Plan ₿ Forum are the main scheduled industry developments. None of these events independently determines crypto price movements, and any market reaction will depend on the information released and broader conditions.
