The Litecoin Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting the development of Litecoin (LTC), and DeLorean Labs announced a partnership on Tuesday focused on initiatives connecting automotive innovation with cryptocurrency adoption.
According to the official announcement, DeLorean Motor Company will accept Litecoin (LTC) as payment for its upcoming line of DeLorean-branded electric vehicles once those vehicles become available.
Customers will also be able to use DeLorean’s native digital asset, DMC. The two organizations stated they will pursue strategies that include treasury management and collaborative events conducted both in person and on social media. The announcement also references cooperation with Charlie Lee, founder of Litecoin. No timelines, vehicle model details, pricing information, or specific event schedules were provided.
Grayscale Litecoin Trust registration update
Apart from the partnerships, Litecoin has shown some developments in other sectors as Grayscale Investments Sponsors, LLC filed Amendment No. 1 to its Form S-3 registration statement for the Grayscale Litecoin Trust on September 11, 2026. The amendment advances the product toward a potential listing on NYSE Arca under the proposed symbol LTCN.
The preliminary prospectus, dated September 11, 2026, and marked subject to completion, updates a September 2025 registration. It states that the sponsor intends to rename the product Grayscale Litecoin Trust ETF if the registration becomes effective and shares receive listing approval. The filing was submitted under registration number 333-290130.
Canton network development
In a separate development, on October 1, the Litecoin Foundation and Greywick Digital signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), concerning the creation of cLTC, a version of Litecoin intended for the Canton Network. Greywick Digital will create cLTC.
The Litecoin Foundation will support the token for institutional trading, yield-bearing products and other institutional applications. cLTC is scheduled to become available after publication of reserve addresses, the attestation format and the launch sequence. Work on these components is under way on a live testnet.
Litecoin price falls 2.1%

According to the CoinGecko data (on October 6, 2026, at 17:30 UTC), Litecoin traded at $69.42, declining 2.1 percent over the prior 24 hours. The 24-hour range was $69.08 to $70.93. Against bitcoin, LTC fell 2.4 percent to 0.0008111 BTC. Market capitalization stood at $5.391 billion, with fully diluted valuation at $5.392 billion. Twenty-four-hour trading volume reached $231.942 million, while perpetual futures open interest measured $872.115 million.
Circulating and total supply both registered 77.687 million tokens against a maximum supply of 84 million. The price chart showed an overall downward trajectory across the day, beginning near $71, experiencing intermittent recoveries, and closing lower.
