Singapore-based payment company dtcpay has completed a $25 million Series A funding round, with Japan’s SBI Group joining as a strategic investor, the company announced on September 18.

According to dtcpay’s official announcement, Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India led the initial tranche of the round in April 2026. That first tranche was $10 million and was separately announced in March 2026. SBI Group later joined the round through its subsidiary SBI Ventures Asset Pte Ltd and the SBI-NTU-Kyobo Digital Innovation Fund.

dtcpay secured $25 million Series A, boosting capital for global stablecoin payment expansion.
SBI Group’s strategic investment links Japanese and Southeast Asian digital‑asset markets, enhancing cross‑border transaction flow.
Funding enables dtcpay to scale infrastructure, targeting regulated markets across Europe, North America, and Asia.

Singapore-based fund manager Genedant Capital and existing investor Kwee Liong Tek also participated. Kwee Liong Tek is a prominent Singapore business leader associated with Capella Hotel Group / Pontiac Land Group. dtcpay did not disclose the individual investment amounts or its valuation following the funding round.

Focus on stablecoin payments

dtcpay provides payment services that allow businesses and consumers to accept, store, and transact in stablecoins. Its platform also supports conversions between stablecoins and fiat currencies. The company was founded in 2019 and previously raised $16.5 million in a pre-Series A round in June 2023.

The company has developed a digital payment token point-of-sale solution that allows merchants to accept stablecoin payments. It has also integrated with WalletConnect, which dtcpay said provides access to more than 700 wallets.

Through a partnership with Visa, dtcpay offers a payment card that supports spending in fiat currencies and stablecoins. dtcpay said it is an official Visa member. The company has also worked with BNB Chain on stablecoin payment use cases and enabled Singapore department store Metro to accept stablecoin payments.

Expansion across regulated markets

The funding comes as Singapore continues to develop its regulatory framework for stablecoins.

On September 1, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) proposed rules requiring stablecoin issuers to maintain reserves covering at least 100% of their outstanding stablecoins. The proposed framework also requires issuers to redeem tokens at face value and prohibits the payment of interest or yield to stablecoin holders.

dtcpay operates as a Major Payment Institution licensed by MAS. It also holds an Electronic Money Institution license in Luxembourg, allowing it to provide regulated payment services across the European Economic Area.

The company said it also holds licenses or registrations in Hong Kong, Australia, the United States and Canada.

Eiichiro So, CEO of SBI Ven Capital, said the investment marks the beginning of a strategic partnership between the two companies. He also pointed to an opportunity to expand digital-asset connections between Japan and Southeast Asia through regulated infrastructure.

Investors back next phase

Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India, part of Vertex Holdings, led the first tranche of the Series A. Vertex Holdings is a wholly owned subsidiary of Temasek Holdings.

Genedant Capital, which is licensed by MAS, also joined the round. The company said Genedant has more than $2 billion in assets under management and advisory.

dtcpay said the investors will provide more than capital, with their financial and regional networks expected to support the company’s international expansion.

Founder and CEO Alice Liu said the funding will help dtcpay expand its cross-border payment infrastructure and enter more markets. “We raised it to fundamentally change how money moves across borders,” she said, adding that SBI Group’s support strengthens the company’s plans to expand regulated stablecoin payments.

Group Chairman Band Zhao said dtcpay will focus on strengthening infrastructure, developing partnerships with financial institutions and expanding into additional regulated markets.

The company did not disclose a valuation or the specific amount invested by SBI Group. dtcpay’s next steps include expanding its stablecoin payment products, enterprise services, and presence in regulated markets. dtcpay also said the new capital will support a revamped business portal for enterprise clients and new consumer features in the dtcpay app.
