Paris-based onchain analytics firm Bubblemaps unveiled a platform overhaul, adding a curated discovery feed, a token-level score for insider concentration, and an in-app swap module. The company said the feed screens new tokens for launch bundles and linked wallet clusters, two patterns it already uses in post-trade investigations, before those tokens reach the browsing layer.
The change is a workflow redesign rather than a new detection method, moving signals that previously required a manual map review into the moment a trader first sees a ticker.
What the New Tools Actually Measure
In Bubblemaps’ own definition, a bundle marks wallets that bought within the same block or within seconds of a launch. The pattern typically points to sniper bots or a team pre-loading supply at the open. A cluster marks wallets tied by shared funding sources or transfer behaviour, which can suggest a single actor splitting holdings across many addresses.
Neither signal, on its own, proves manipulation. Coordinated market-making, airdrop farming, and bot activity can look similar onchain.
Each token in the feed now carries a Bubblemaps score meant to summarise insider concentration without requiring a full map review, according to the firm’s official launch thread on X posted on September 15, 2026.
Bundled tokens are also demoted in the trending view. Bubblemaps has not published a methodology paper for the score, meaning users cannot independently audit how the weighting is calculated.
The same interface now embeds a swap. According to the official Bubblemaps V2 swap documentation, users can connect a wallet, enter a dollar amount, pay or receive in a chain’s native token or a supported stablecoin, and adjust slippage, priority, and Maximal Extractable Value (MEV) settings before submitting. That shortens the path from research to execution. It also means price impact, routing quality, and platform fees now sit inside the same product that is scoring the token.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and co-founder Nicolas Vaiman framed the release as a shift from analysis-only use to a combined discovery, review, and trading workflow. “People have been using Bubblemaps for years to understand tokens before they buy. Now we’re taking the next step: helping them discover tokens, analyze them, and trade them directly from the same platform,” he said in a company statement distributed via Chainwire.
Why the Timing Matters
The revamp arrived less than a week after the Base network launch of Hunter Biden’s LAPTOP token, which collapsed within hours of trading opening on Coinbase’s Ethereum Layer-2. Bubblemaps’ own dataset showed 12,151 of 15,206 launch-day wallets in loss, or about 80%, with most individual losses under $1,000 and gains concentrated in a small subset of addresses. As The Crypto Times reported, Hunter Biden and the project team denied insider selling and blamed thin liquidity and predatory snipers for the crash.
One documented wallet tracked by on-chain analytics account Lookonchain withdrew nearly $250,000 in USD Coin (USDC) from Binance ahead of the September 9 debut, spent $200,040 on approximately 919 LAPTOP tokens at roughly $217.60 each, and was left with a position valued at about $3,000 within the first hour of trading. Bubblemaps additionally flagged that about 60% of LAPTOP’s top-holder wallets had no prior activity. Those two explanations offered by the project team, thin liquidity and sniper activity, are not mutually exclusive with the tape, but concentrated early flow and heavy retail losses do not, on their own, amount to a classic liquidity pull.
The Crypto Times has tracked Bubblemaps’ earlier casework, including its October 2025 integration into Binance Web3 Wallet and its March 2026 warning on concentrated SIREN supply, issued before the BNB Chain token subsequently gave up more than 70% from its all-time high. Those episodes show that the same toolkit has, in the past, flagged clusters after damage was already visible.
The open question for the new feed is whether pre-filtering reduces that lag, or whether it simply hides tokens that look messy at launch while missing better-obfuscated structures.
Coverage, Token and Commercial Structure
Bubblemaps operates across multiple networks, including Ethereum, Solana, Base, BNB Chain, and The Open Network (TON). Its native token, BMT, was issued via a Token Generation Event (TGE) on BNB Smart Chain in March 2025 and is used to unlock premium features and to rank cases inside the platform’s Intel Desk, a community-voted investigation board.
The firm’s homepage also carries token labels, verification highlights, and a paid promotion slot for projects seeking visibility. That combination of research, listing, promotion, and swap is commercially coherent, but it is neither a neutral exchange nor a regulator.
Clustering engines can miss sophisticated layering and can over-group unrelated wallets. A high or low Bubblemaps score is a heuristic, not a verdict on whether a token will hold value. Bubblemaps V2, the platform’s current release, went public in May 2025 with features including Magic Nodes, which surface hidden wallet relationships in a single click, and Time Travel, which walks through a token’s distribution history from launch to the present.
