Key Highlights
- Securitize’s tokenized SECZ shares are now live on Loopscale’s on-chain credit markets on Solana.
- Eligible holders can use tokenized SECZ as collateral to borrow stablecoins at fixed rates without selling their shares.
- Tokenized SECZ represents the same common stock listed on the NYSE, with ownership maintained through Securitize’s SEC-registered transfer-agent infrastructure.
Securitize, a regulated digital asset platform, announced that tokenized SECZ shares are now live on Loopscale’s on-chain credit markets on the Solana blockchain. The move allows eligible holders to use the shares as collateral and borrow stablecoins at fixed rates.
In an X post on Thursday, the platform said the arrangement allows participants to access liquidity while continuing to hold their SECZ position. Tokenized SECZ represents the same common stock that trades on the New York Stock Exchange.
Securitize said the tokenized shares are maintained through its SEC-registered transfer-agent infrastructure. Tokenization changes the form in which the asset is held but does not change the underlying security.
SECZ tokenization began with Securitize’s NYSE listing
Securitize became a publicly traded company on July 2, 2026, when its shares began trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker SECZ. Eligible U.S. investors could access tokenized SECZ through Securitize’s regulated platform on the same day.
The company said the launch made it the first newly public company to tokenize its own stock from the first day of public trading.
The August 20 integration builds on that structure by enabling the tokenized shares to function as collateral in an onchain credit market. Securitize described issuer-sponsored tokenized equities as contributing to activity on the network by bringing public-company shares onchain with issuer participation and by linking ownership to shareholder records.
Securitize expands tokenized asset offerings
The Loopscale integration follows several other tokenization initiatives from Securitize.
On August 18, Securitize and Neuberger Berman launched a tokenized fund focused on high-yield fixed-income investments. The fund invests primarily in high-yield bonds and also includes exposure to collateralized loan obligations, leveraged loans, and other income-producing fixed-income instruments.
The product is issued across blockchains through Securitize’s tokenization infrastructure. Securitize confirmed the launch in a post on its official X account that day. The high-yield fund represents an additional traditional asset class brought onto blockchain-based platforms by Securitize. It follows the earlier tokenization of the company’s own equity and the subsequent integration of that equity into onchain credit markets.
Solana adds another use case for tokenized securities
The integration also expands the role of tokenized securities on Solana.
Securitize said Solana hosts about $3.8 billion in distributed tokenized assets. The company has positioned issuer-sponsored tokenized equities as a way to bring public-company shares onto blockchain networks while maintaining links to official shareholder records.
With SECZ now available as collateral on Loopscale, the tokenized shares can be used not only for ownership and transfer but also within an onchain credit market.
However, access remains subject to eligibility requirements and the applicable regulatory framework. The integration does not mean SECZ can be used as collateral by all investors or across all lending markets.
Tokenized securities move toward broader financial use
The development reflects a broader shift in tokenization from simply representing traditional assets on blockchains toward using those assets within financial markets.
In Securitize’s case, SECZ was tokenized alongside its public listing, followed by the launch of a tokenized fixed-income fund and now the use of tokenized equity as collateral for credit.
Whether such structures gain wider adoption will depend on factors including investor eligibility, liquidity, regulatory requirements and the ability of onchain markets to support institutional-scale activity.
For now, the Loopscale integration gives eligible SECZ holders another way to use their tokenized shares without immediately selling the underlying equity.
