Immunefi, a Web3 bug bounty and security services platform, today announced a partnership with Code4rena to help migrate bug bounty programs after Code4rena said it plans to wind down operations.
According to Immunefi’s announcement, the partnership is intended to ensure continuity for protocols that depended on Code4rena’s competitive audit model.
What migrating protocols will receive?
Protocols onboarding to Immunefi through this migration will be given access to the extensive network of elite white hat researchers on the platform. Some advantages include professional triage and mediation services, battle-tested across $135 million in bounties paid out.
It will also provide dedicated migration support to port over scope, rules, and reward structures. This inclusive approach is likely to retain much of the talent that powered Code4rena’s success.
Immunefi offered a direct invitation to Code4rena’s community of wardens, accepting their contributions to making the industry safer. The announcement mentioned, “To every C4 warden: We want you here. You’ve been the backbone of one of the most respected securities communities in crypto.”
The platform urged continuing progress on improvements in the white hat experience, made on Code4rena’s legacy. Moving forward, Immunefi showed gratitude to the Code4rena team and thanked them for trusting the platform to carry this forward and for putting their customers’ security first.
Code4rena’s winddown announcement
Earlier today, Code4rena announced its plans to wind down operations. In a statement posted on X, the company said the decision was made after careful consideration and thanked its community of wardens, judges, sponsors, and project teams.
Code4rena said all active security contests, audits, and bounty programs will be completed and that no current engagements will be left unfinished. Any other details related to timelines, contest closures, and final operational wrap-ups will be shared with the community via their Discord in the near future.
Series of wind-downs
The DeFi world is currently witnessing a series of wind-downs, with the current one being the closure of a DeFi platform, Legend. The platform announced its wind-down on Tuesday, giving 60 days of time to the users to remove funds from the app.
The platform will have normal operation for these 60 days and will finally shut down on July 12, 2026. However, a weekly email reminder will be given to the users for withdrawing their funds.
Bug bounty program becomes essential
The collaboration exemplifies the trend in the Web3 space towards platforms that have both the necessary scale, professional management, and community involvement. The more sophisticated and valuable protocols become, the more essential bug bounty programs will be.
Throughout the process, both sides will offer additional assistance to the protocols affected by the transfer and to the researchers. On an industry level, the partnership confirms the ongoing developments in security tools regardless of the evolution of each platform.
