Key Highlights
- TON Tech now allows AI agents on Telegram to use their own wallets to send payments and make transactions automatically.
- Users stay in full control by setting rules, limits, and retaining the ability to withdraw funds or stop access anytime.
- The system brings crypto payments directly into chat, making transactions faster, easier, and fully automated.
TON Tech, a team of TON ecosystem developers supported by the TON Foundation, today launched Agentic Wallets on The Open Network (TON).
In an official post on X, the team said the feature allows AI agents on Telegram to hold funds and carry out blockchain transactions without asking the user for approval every time.
How users can set it up and stay in control
The team explained that the wallets are designed to be simple and self-controlled. It works by letting a user create a separate wallet for an AI agent, fund it, and define rules for how it can operate. Once it’s all set up, the agent can start operating. It can send payment, make in-app purchases, and interact with decentralized apps, but only within limits set by the user.
“Each agent operates a dedicated on-chain wallet funded by the user, with no intermediary involved,” the team said.
TON Tech added that users still keep full control through their main wallet, while the agent only controls a limited wallet created for specific tasks. Access can be removed at any time, and funds can be withdrawn whenever the user decides. The wallets are self-custodial, meaning no third party is involved, and they work with existing TON wallets without requiring updates or special upgrades.
The setup also works with current TON wallets, so users do not need to upgrade anything. For developers, the system supports tools like MCP and CLI, making it easier to build and manage AI agents. It also works with different AI models, giving more flexibility.
Payments now happen inside chat
The integration with Telegram plays a central role in this launch. The team said that the system uses the platform’s Bot API and bot-to-bot communication features, which allow the AI agent to be able to interact and send payments directly inside chat conversations.
This means users can manage their transactions on the same messaging platform without switching to any other ones. Moreover, it builds on Telegram’s system, where users can create personal bots that act on their behalf.
Surge in AI automation
The launch comes at a time when automated systems are becoming more active in the crypto space. Data from CEX.io shows that a large share of stablecoin activity is already driven by bots moving funds between exchanges, wallets, and liquidity platforms.
Unlike other industry efforts that connect AI payments to traditional checkout systems, TON’s approach places transactions directly inside conversations, meaning they can easily make payments while having a chat with someone on the platform. This removes the usual steps seen in payment flows and allows actions to happen faster, with low fees and quick settlement on the blockchain.
Broader context
The introduction of Agentic Wallets adds to a growing trend where artificial intelligence and blockchain technology are being combined to create systems that can operate with less human input.
In recent months, several crypto firms have launched AI automated payment features. For instance, payment platform Stripe now lets AI agents pay directly using USDC on Base using the x402 protocol.
Last year, Google, in partnership with over 60 firms, also introduced an AI-driven payment system to make it easier for users to manage their transactions.
