American Bitcoin Corp. (ABTC) announced an expansion of its digital asset treasury on Monday, revealing that its total Bitcoin holdings had reached 5,427 BTC. The update follows the company’s shift toward a Bitcoin-focused treasury model, which began with its Nasdaq debut.
The company grew its holdings through a mix of market acquisitions and operational yields, resulting in a reported BTC Yield of 105.0% over the past four months. This accumulation strategy aims to boost shareholder value by increasing the amount of Bitcoin behind each share of common stock.
Market response and trading activity
ABTC started trading on Nasdaq on September 3, 2025. The update on treasury holdings triggered a notable response in the equity markets. According to Nasdaq data, ABTC shares jumped more than 15% during Monday’s trading session, closing at $2.05. Trading activity was high, with share volume reaching nearly 28 million, almost triple the average daily volume of 10.1 million shares.
The stock’s intraday performance saw it rise from a low of $1.90 to a high of $2.10, showing strong investor interest. Despite this recent surge, the stock remains well below its 52-week high of $14.52, although it has made major gains since its yearly low of about $0.12.
Satoshis Per Share metrics
The growth in reserves is detailed in the company’s “Satoshis Per Share” metric. At the time of its Nasdaq listing in September, American Bitcoin held a relatively small amount of Bitcoin, but this figure has steadily increased each month.
By January, the company reported 556 Satoshis Per Share (SPS), a number it uses to show the amount of Bitcoin attributed to each outstanding share of common stock. This marks an increase from the 24 SPS reported at the start of the measurement period.
The company calculates BTC Yield as a ratio that measures changes in its SPS, considering it a key performance metric for its corporate strategy.
Corporate restructuring and market positioning
This change in corporate strategy follows a period of restructuring for American Bitcoin Corp. The company used to operate with a different focus but underwent a merger in September 2025 to connect more closely with the digital asset sector.
Since then, the management team has prioritized acquiring Bitcoin as its main reserve asset, similar to the strategies of other major “Bitcoin Treasury” companies. The current market capitalization of the company is about $1.9 billion, making it a mid-cap player in the technology and EDP services sector on the Nasdaq Capital Market.
Future market outlook
Market analysts are watching whether ABTC can keep up this rate of accumulation. According to Market Beats, analysts have placed ABTC’s price target at $4.00 by the year-end. Looking at the current prices, they expect the stock to nearly double if it continues to execute its treasury strategy successfully. However, the volatility of Bitcoin remains a key risk factor for investors.
As the company continues to tie its value to the price and amount of Bitcoin held, its stock performance is likely to stay closely linked to the broader cryptocurrency market. For now, achieving a triple-digit BTC yield since its debut marks an important milestone in the company’s effort to establish itself as a leading institutional holder of digital assets.
