In a remarkable event, an anonymous solo Bitcoin miner has successfully mined an entire block alone, earning a total reward of 3.133 Bitcoin (BTC), worth around $284,661.
As per Mempool.space, the block 927,474 was mined on December 12, 2025, at 04:22 UTC. This news has drawn the attention of the crypto world and emphasizes that there are still opportunities for solo miners as big mining operations compete.
The miner who mined the block goes by the name Solo CK and received the total reward of 3.125 BTC and 0.008 BTC as fees. The mined block contains 1,117 transactions with fees ranging from 1-100 sat/vB and a size of 596.67 kB. The block was confirmed on the Bitcoin network via ViaBTC and is 100% healthy.
Unlike mining pools that are composed of thousands of miners pooled together for computing power, solo miners rely on their own computing resources to solve the complex mathematical problems necessary for generating a new block.
It’s very difficult, so solo mining can be very risky. Tackling large global mining pools requires significant capital expenditure on computing and energy, and there will be no assured gain.
Past solo mining wins
So-called solo miners have also managed to record some hard-earned victories despite the prevalence of large mining facilities.
In August 2024, a solo miner mined a block on the Bitcoin network, reaping 3.27 BTC valued at approximately $200,000. It contained 2,391 transactions. The miner made money from transaction fees as well as the block reward. Other solo mining achievements made within this year include a miner who pocketed $371,000 for block number 910,440.
