Jawed Habib Faces 23 FIR Cases for ₹100 Cr Crypto Scam

In western Uttar Pradesh, police have filed 23 cases under IPC sections 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation) against celebrity hairstylist Jawed Habib and his son Anas Habib. They have been accused of scamming over 400 people out of ₹100 crore in a cryptocurrency fraud in western Uttar Pradesh.

In 2023, they held an event in Sambhal, where Jawed, Anas, and their company Follicle Global Company’s (FLC) leader Saifullah Khan promised investors high profits, ₹35,000 monthly, and their money back with interest in three months if they invested in cryptocurrencies through 8–10 related companies.

As per reports, the victims were promised to get 50–75% annual returns on Bitcoin and Binance Coin investments. Taking advantage of Jawed’s fame, they convinced people to invest ₹5 lakh to ₹7 lakh, paid online or in cash. Soon after that, within a month, FLC shut down, and Jawed and his family disappeared. When investors asked for their money, they faced threats or excuses, with Saifullah delaying payments.

Police investigations reveal funds were diverted to other accounts, prompting a deeper probe into the network. The Habib family has denied any involvement with FLC. Further, on September 24, 2025, Sambhal police filed a case against them for allegedly cheating more than 150 people in a cryptocurrency scam.

Police probe Habib’s family-run crypto scam in Sambhal

Sambhal Superintendent of Police, Krishan Kumar Bishnoi, described the operation as a “multi-layered fraud scheme involving fund transfers to other companies.”

He noted that FLC was a family-run entity, with Habib’s wife listed as its founder. “A lookout notice has been issued against the family, and their bank accounts and properties are being scrutinized,” said Bishnoi.

Authorities are working to track down the money that was moved and find Jawed Habib and his son, who are wanted for a major fraud case in the area.
