Trump’s Bitcoin Envoy Holds Talks with El Salvador’s President
According to an X post by The Bitcoin Office on June 5, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele met with Bo Hines from the White House. He was joined by his deputy, Patrick Witt.
Bo Hines said it was a “great meeting with Nayib Bukele.” He praised Bukele for leading transformative change in the beautiful country of El Salvador. They discussed various topics related to digital asset innovation and collaboration. In addition, a shared commitment to shaping the future of global finance.
The latest meeting seems vital for economic and technological cooperation, reflecting Trump’s increasing interest in crypto. Both countries are focusing on the strategic alignment related to digital assets, including Bitcoin.
Recently, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele met with President Donald Trump at the White House in mid-April. However, the meeting was primarily focused on migration and deportations.
El Salvador became the first country to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender in 2021. Since then, under the leadership of President Nayib Bukele, the country continues to buy 1 BTC daily.
According to Arkham Intelligence, the El Salvador government holds 6,198 BTC worth around $651 million. With Bitcoin price continuing its upside move amid US President Trump’s pro-crypto strategic policies, including the establishment of a strategic Bitcoin reserve, President Bukele’s Bitcoin strategy is paying off successfully.
