Bitcoin News- President Trump's Executive Director Meets With El Salvador President

In a major Bitcoin news today, President Trump’s Executive Director for Digital Assets, Bo Hines, met with El Salvador President Nayib Bukele, as per posts on X. The primary discussion focused on collaboration between the U.S. and El Salvador on Bitcoin and digital assets innovation.

Trump’s Bitcoin Envoy Holds Talks with El Salvador’s President

According to an X post by The Bitcoin Office on June 5, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele met with Bo Hines from the White House. He was joined by his deputy, Patrick Witt.

Bo Hines said it was a “great meeting with Nayib Bukele.” He praised Bukele for leading transformative change in the beautiful country of El Salvador. They discussed various topics related to digital asset innovation and collaboration. In addition, a shared commitment to shaping the future of global finance.

The latest meeting seems vital for economic and technological cooperation, reflecting Trump’s increasing interest in crypto. Both countries are focusing on the strategic alignment related to digital assets, including Bitcoin.

Recently, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele met with President Donald Trump at the White House in mid-April. However, the meeting was primarily focused on migration and deportations.

El Salvador became the first country to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender in 2021. Since then, under the leadership of President Nayib Bukele, the country continues to buy 1 BTC daily.

According to Arkham Intelligence, the El Salvador government holds 6,198 BTC worth around $651 million. With Bitcoin price continuing its upside move amid US President Trump’s pro-crypto strategic policies, including the establishment of a strategic Bitcoin reserve, President Bukele’s Bitcoin strategy is paying off successfully.

At the time of writing, BTC price is 0.78% down at $104,972 in the last 24 hours. The trading volume on Bitcoin has dried up today amid tariff concerns.
