Hedera is ushering in a new era of blockchain development with the rollout of Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) on its mainnet.

Thanks to this collaboration, developers will be able to create decentralized applications that easily bridge Hedera with more than 46 other blockchain networks, with additional chains being added regularly.
CCIP enables secure token, message, and action transfer between chains, opening up a world of potential to DeFi and real-world asset (RWA) tokenization.
This integration enables easier migration of users and liquidity from other chains into the Hedera network, supporting the growth and adoption of the network’s DeFi tools and tokenized assets. This milestone follows Hedera’s continued collaboration with Chainlink.
Last year, the HBAR Foundation joined Chainlink’s SCALE program to give developers on Hedera better access to Chainlink’s powerful tools. That includes Chainlink’s trusted Data Feeds and Proof of Reserve — and now, CCIP is the latest addition.
CCIP is noted for its robust security. It uses the same technology that previously enabled over $75 billion in DeFi activity and over $20 trillion in on-chain transactions. It is designed to be reliable, with no downtime, and to improve over time.
One of the neat things about it is the Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard. This lets developers create or link tokens on blockchains in a straightforward way using a tool called Token Manager — and they maintain complete control over the tokens.
Greg Scullard from Hedera said “secure blockchain interoperability is critical” and shared that they’re “thrilled that Chainlink’s CCIP is now live on Hedera.” He called it a “game-changing standard” that will help developers build powerful cross-chain apps.
Thodoris Karakostas from Chainlink Labs said they’re “excited to see the Chainlink standard for cross-chain interoperability live on Hedera mainnet.” He added that CCIP, along with Data Feeds and Proof of Reserve, will help “drive adoption” and grow Hedera’s DeFi and RWA ecosystems.
