Peter Schiff Marks His 62Nd Birthday With A Bitcoin Surprise

Peter Schiff, one of Bitcoin’s most vocal critics, has done something unexpected. The gold advocate and long-time crypto skeptic recently launched his Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, a project modeled after how the U.S. government acquires assets without extra spending. Now, in a birthday update, he’s taken the next step, moving his Bitcoin off an exchange and into a hardware wallet.

Schiff says this move is all about transparency, but the real surprise is his birthday request. Instead of traditional gifts, he’s inviting people to contribute Bitcoin to his reserve.

He’s quick to clarify, though, that this isn’t a personal donation, it’s going into the reserve, which he claims he’ll never sell or touch. It’s a crafty way to accumulate BTC without buying it himself.

But Schiff isn’t going all in on Bitcoin just yet. He’s still favoring gold-backed assets and is open to receiving PaxGold or Tether Gold. Meanwhile, he’s also started collecting Solana (SOL), though he’s keeping it separate from his Bitcoin reserve. He calls it his “Crypto Stockpile”, which remains in his exchange wallet.

As of now, Schiff’s Bitcoin reserve holds 0.05 BTC, worth around $4,200. It’s a small start, but for a man who has spent years bashing Bitcoin, it’s a fascinating shift. Love him or hate him, Schiff’s latest move proves that even the loudest crypto critics can’t ignore Bitcoin’s growing impact.
