Lights, Camera, Crypto Bollywood Goes Blockchain with Shemaroo and RECRD

Remember the thrill of collecting movie posters or trading cards? Well, get ready for a blockbuster upgrade! Bollywood is now stepping into the future by embracing the world of blockchain and digital collectibles. Recently, SocialFi platform RECRD and entertainment giant Shemaroo partnered to transform Bollywood blockbusters into digital collectibles with the help of blockchain.

RECRD and Shemaroo Partnership: A New Era for Cinema Fans

Sui-backed SocialFi platform RECRD announced a collaboration with the Indian entertainment giant Shemaroo Entertainment. Under this collaboration, Shemaroo will become a platinum member of RECRD, share some of its biggest Bollywood cinema IPs, and enhance the experience of movie fans through blockchain technology.

This move by Shemaroo is futuristic and one of its kind in the industry. Shemaroo is one of the largest owners of entertainment IP worldwide and this partnership will convert its Bollywood movies and music into digital collectibles.

Additionally, it is a win-win situation for both companies and movie buffs, as the partnership opens doors for new chain monetization avenues and provides fans with access to unique content and a better experience with their favorite movies.

What RECRD & Shemaroo Partnership Brings For Movies Fans

Picture this: You’re not just watching your favorite movie for the hundredth time; you’re owning a piece of it. The RECRD-Shemaroo collaboration is set to transform how we interact with Bollywood classics by turning them into unique digital collectibles. But what does this mean for the average movie buff?

Imagine having an exclusive, verified clip from “Golmaal Returns” or “Jab We Met” that only you and a handful of other fans have. Or how about owning a limited-edition digital poster of “Masti” that could appreciate in value over time? This isn’t just about bragging rights; it’s about being part of that blockbuster hit.

Bollywood Meets Blockchain: The Bigger Picture

This partnership isn’t just about fun and games; it’s a serious business move that could reshape the entertainment industry. Arghya Chakravarty, COO of Shemaroo Entertainment, sees this as a pioneering step:

“By leveraging these advancements, we empower our audiences to connect with their favorite films in exciting and immersive ways, enhancing user engagement and content monetization.”

Meanwhile, RECRD’s co-founder and CEO, Anoir Houmou, highlights the global impact:

“Our strategic partnership with Shemaroo and foray into India allows us to bring some of Bollywood’s most-loved IPs to a global user base while empowering the country’s massive base of digital creators and influencers to monetize content and create their own success stories.”

RECRD Raised a Whopping $4 Million Funding

RECRD founded by Anoir Houmou and Dominic Frazer-Imregh recently raised $4 million in funding and was backed by some prominent companies such as the Sui Foundation, Mitch Lowe of Netflix, NBA All-Star Mitchell Richmond, Alphabit Fund, and DNA Fund. Not only this since its launch it achieved a milestone of 1 million Daily active users.

Currently, RECRD is No.1 on the Sui network and among the top 5 DApps worldwide. Not only this it provides several opportunities for the creators, users, and brands to make money through their engagement model based on shareable short-form content and dynamic video reactions called REBND (rebound).

The platform’s features REBND (rebound) and intent NFT are the backbone and help content creators and freelancers make money from their work by turning it into digital assets that can be bought and sold. It also gives advertisers a better way to reach their audience and get more value from their ads. With all these features and DeFi integration now they are aiming to disrupt the $250 billion creator economy.

Conclusion

The Shemaroo and RECRD partnership is not just another ordinary cash-grab collaboration, it’s futuristic and a visionary approach to transforming iconic movies into tradable digital assets. RECRD is changing how we experience cinema—entering a new age of fan engagement and content ownership.

With Bollywood’s vast global fanbase and RECRD’s blockchain-powered SocialFi model, it looks like they are on the verge of starting a new trend and a new era, which will called as Blockchain Cinema in the future.
