In a leaked clip from the upcoming HBO documentary film maker Cullen Hoback has named Peter Todd, a bitcoin core developer who has been involved with bitcoin since 2010, as who he believes to be the real-world identity of Satoshi Nakamoto.
In response to this, Todd howers has denied this saying ” of course I’m not Satoshi,” and that filmmaker Cullen Hoback, was “grasping at straws”
Peter Todd is a bitcoin core developer who has been involved with bitcoin since 2010, and has acknowledged that he indeed had an interview, and the clip circulating is not a deepfake.
It’s ironic that a director who is also known for a documentary on QAnon has resorted to QAnon style coincidence-based conspiracy thinking here too.”
The viral clip circulating on social media alos shows todd calling the idea of him being satoshi “ludicorus”.
To be clear: Only snippets of the film are going viral on social media and it’s possible that in the end Hoback reaches a different conclusion. The documentary can evan end without evan doxing the real identity of Satoshi.
