Strive, Inc., a publicly traded institutional asset manager, purchased an additional 79 bitcoin between August 10 and August 14, 2026, as per the announcement on August 17, 2026. 

According to the chairman and CEO of the company, Matt Cole, the acquisition was completed at an average price of approximately $63,231 per bitcoin, inclusive of fees and expenses, for a total cost of $5.0 million. The purchase raised Strive’s total bitcoin holdings to 20,246 BTC.

The official SEC filing notes that the company reported the transaction details in connection with updates to its holdings of cash and cash equivalents, bitcoin, Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock of Strategy Inc. (STRC Stock), and shares outstanding of its Class A common stock, Class B common stock, and Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Preferred Stock (SATA Stock).

No additional quantitative details beyond the bitcoin purchase amount, average price, and resulting total holdings of 20,246 BTC were included in the summarized filing text. The transaction history continues to list SEC filing references for each recorded purchase entry.

The company’s official website lists that the latest purchase of 79 BTC appears in Strive’s transaction history under the date of August 14, 2026. At that time the company’s overall cost basis per bitcoin stood at $94,355. Prior to the August 14 purchase, total holdings were recorded at 20,167 BTC following a larger acquisition of 147 BTC on August 7, 2026, executed at an average price of $64,812 per bitcoin for a total cost of $9.50 million.

  • July 31, 2026: 20 BTC acquired for $1.27 million at $63,685 per bitcoin, bringing holdings to 20,020 BTC.
  • July 24, 2026: 79 BTC acquired for $5.19 million at $65,723 per bitcoin, bringing holdings to 20,000 BTC.
  • July 17, 2026: 21 BTC acquired for $1.33 million at $63,221 per bitcoin, bringing holdings to 19,921 BTC.
  • July 10, 2026: 18 BTC acquired for $1.18 million at $64,028 per bitcoin, bringing holdings to 19,900 BTC.
  • July 2, 2026: 18 BTC acquired for $1.06 million at $59,850 per bitcoin, bringing holdings to 19,882 BTC.

As per the website, Strive’s total bitcoin holdings of 20,246 BTC have been accumulated through 28 transactions. The current USD value of the holdings is reported at $1.29 billion. The average cost per bitcoin across all purchases stands at $94,355. 

At the time of the latest reported figures, the market price of bitcoin was listed at $63,537, representing a difference of 32.6 percent relative to the average cost basis. In the trailing 30-day period covered by the reported data, Strive acquired 325 BTC.

At the time of this writing (on August 17, at 14:30 UTC), Bitcoin traded at $63,537.99 on August 17, 2026, rising 0.8% over the prior 24 hours, according to CoinGecko data. The 24-hour range spanned $62,666.84 to $63,706.10. 

Over seven days the price declined 1.6%, with a range of $62,525.02 to $64,653.25. Market capitalization stood at $1.275 trillion, and 24-hour trading volume reached $16.454 billion. The circulating and total supply each measured 20.072 million BTC against a maximum supply of 21 million.

The all-time high of $126,080, recorded on October 6, 2025, placed the current price 49.6% lower. The all-time low of $67.81 dates to July 5, 2013. Total treasury holdings were reported at 1,901,970 BTC. The 24-hour chart showed an initial decline followed by a recovery toward $63,530.
