Arbitrum Set to Release $2 Billion Tokens Next Month

On March 16, 2024, Ethereum’s layer 2 scaling solution, Arbitrum, is poised to unlock more than $2 billion worth of ARB tokens, as reported by Token Unlocks data.

This forthcoming unlock will allocate over 1.1 billion ARB tokens, constituting roughly 87% of the circulating supply, to the project’s team, advisors, and investors. To date, approximately 1.5 billion tokens have been released, accounting for nearly 16% of the total supply.

This event stands out as the most significant token unlock scheduled for this month. Alongside Arbitrum, other projects like dYdX, Aptos, and Immutable are also undergoing major token releases.

Today, dYdX released approximately $111 million worth of tokens. Aptos is slated to release around $290 million in tokens on March 13, while Immutable will unlock approximately $109 million in tokens on March 22.

The impending unlock is poised to double the assets’ current circulating supply. Robinhood has recently incorporated Arbitrum into its platform to provide users with quicker and more economical transactions, utilizing its Layer 2 technology.

According to CoinGecko’s data, ARB is currently trading at approximately $1.9, experiencing a nearly 3% decrease over the past 24 hours. The token boasts a market capitalization of around $2.5 billion.
