Caroline Ellison, the former CEO of Alameda Research and Ex-girlfriend of Sam Bankman-Fried, is set to provide testimony against Bankman-Fried in his upcoming trial for fraud on Tuesday, October 10.
Bankman-Fried is facing allegations of misusing funds from FTX customers for his personal benefit and engaging in risky trading activities.
Caroline Ellison’s testimony will follow that of Gary Wang, who co-founded FTX and previously served as its chief technology officer.
In December, Wang confessed to charges related to fraud. During his testimony last Friday, Wang revealed that Sam Bankman-Fried instructed him to create a program that allowed Alameda to access $8 billion of FTX customers’ funds without their knowledge.
Following an early finish in court on Friday, the Department of Justice announced that FTX co-founder and former Chief Technology Officer Wang’s testimony will finish on Tuesday. Prosecutors plan to have Ellison testify next. Similar to Wang, Ellison admitted guilt to various fraud charges in December.
There will be no court session on Monday due to Columbus Day (Indigenous People’s Day), and proceedings will continue on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. ET.
