Indian State Introduces Crypto & AI in New School Syllabus

In a recent report by Times of India, the latest development by the Indian State Government of Uttar Pradesh (U.P.) and its secondary education board has sent ripples through the global education system by introducing crypto and drone technology in the syllabus for classes 9 to 12. This new syllabus has been designed based on the new national education policy (NEP)- 2020 and aims to cater to the needs of the industry.

While robotics and drone technology have been added to the Class 12 curriculum, students in Class 11 are being educated about the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, augmented and virtual reality, 3D printing, and cloud computing.

For students in classes 11 and 12, Board experts have replaced traditional C++ and HTML programming courses with coding languages such as Python and Java.

Students in Class 10 will learn the fundamentals of avoiding hacking, phishing, and cyber fraud. Students will also research e-governance. In addition, programming concepts, computer communication, and networking will now be taught in class 9 instead of class 10.

According to the report, the U.P. Board’s decision to remove chapters on the history, generations, and types of computers from the syllabus is a bold move, reflecting the need to prioritize modern tech education over outdated information. This move is crucial for students to succeed in the tech industry and prepare them for the future.

These changes in the syllabus are a significant step towards preparing students for the future. By equipping them with knowledge of modern concepts, the U.P. Board is helping them become more competitive and ready to take on the challenges of the 21st century.

These changes are also in line with the NEP-2020’s vision of a future-oriented education system that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and innovation.

This move has been applauded by industry experts who have welcomed this bold initiative. They believe these new topics will equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become future leaders in the tech industry.

With this move, the U.P. Board has set an example for other education boards around the world to keep students updated with the latest technology and prepare them for the future.
