The popular football club Liverpool FC becomes the first Premier League club to launch virtual apparel merchandise in the Meta Avatars Store on Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and later this year in virtual reality.
According to the announcement, “LFC digital apparel can be purchased in the Meta Avatars Store on Facebook and Instagram in the USA, Canada, Mexico, and Thailand, as well as in Spain, Italy, and the UK.”
The bold, no-nonsense home kit or the iridescent, multicolored away kit from the 2022–23 season, as well as LFC’s own-label lifestyle line, are available for the supporters of the Reds to digitally suit up their avatars.
Drew Crisp, SVP for digital at Liverpool Football Club, stated “We’re incredibly excited to be the first Premier League club with our own Meta Avatars. This is another fantastic opportunity for our global fanbase to digitally engage with Liverpool Football Club and create their own individual club-colored avatars.”
The announcement noted “You can get kitted up on Facebook and Instagram and get ready to chant “Oh! He wears the Number 20” along with the tens of thousands of LFC fans at Anfield.”
