The distribution of Matter tokens’ has been completed successfully and with it, Pak unfurled one more layer of its mechanism. Matter tokens have thrown open doors for Pak NFT collectors to grab more of his creations. These matter tokens were an added utility to mass holders which really proved to be a game changer.
To get these matter tokens, Pak followers participated in the mass.black event that took place from April 1 to April 30. In this, winning collectors are lavishly rewarded with matter tokens in proportion to the amount and size of “mass” they possess.
Basically, in a quest for matter tokens, the Merge NFT community came together to win and move on to the next level.
The distribution of matter tokens among winners is completed in a collaboration with NFT Studios and this unlocks yet another mechanism which is the state of Matter.
As per Pak’s tweet, there are two states of Matter. The mechanism is that when you have your winning amount of mass in the same wallet as your Matter token, the “unidentified” state will take an identified form. This will reveal more token details and a unique visual structure.
The twist here is: if you remove your mass token from your wallet, your Matter reverts to an unidentified state. Simply put, both the Matter token and its required amount of mass must remain in the same wallet in order to stay revealed.
Understand that a matter token with enough mass in the same wallet reveals its unique form. So if you have no mass in your wallet, your matter will be unidentified. When you send it to a wallet with the necessary mass, it takes its unique form. Interestingly, sending mass to a wallet can expose Matter’s form in that wallet.
This interesting mechanism is revolutionary in the Web3 space as it’s the first time when one contract generates NFT metadata on the ownership of another token and the parameter of another contract, dynamically.
This means X collection’s token in your wallet alters Y collection’s token in your wallet. Also when they are in different wallets they act differently. To put it in Pak’s words, it’s an artwork that changes based on what you have.
