Vitalik Buterin Donates $5 Million to Ukraine

Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin made a silent and substantial donation to Ukraine a few days ago. He donated a total of 1500 ETH to two different organizations which converts to around $5 million.

He donated 750 ETH to Ukraine ‘Unchain Foundation’, which converted to about $2.5 million. The Unchain Foundation provides humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.

We're incredibly grateful for @VitalikButerin support and donation of 750ETH!

Besides Unchain Fund, Vitalik has also donated the same amount to @Ukraine.

1500ETH = ~$5m that will make a difference for those in need in Ukraine! 🇺🇦

Thank you, Vitalik & Ethereum fam! 🙏🏻💛💙 pic.twitter.com/RSGy4q2TY7

He donated another 750 ETH to Aid for Ukraine, which is a government-run incentive set up by the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation.

.@VitalikButerin donated almost $2.5M in $ETH to @_AidForUkraine 2 days ago, and didn't say a word! He's also donated $2.5M to @Unchainfund.

Thanks for your enormous help, Vitalik, and thank you for creating @ethereum! The #Ethereum community is 💙💛 pic.twitter.com/HuvDcTM40e

The Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation commented,” I couldn’t be more grateful for every crypto donation to our lifesaving initiative. It really helps to strength our country and protect democratic values. Special thanks to Vitalik Buterin for standing with Ukraine.”

The war in Ukraine is currently in its seventh week, with no end in sight. The war has resulted in a massive loss of life and money as well as large-scale migration.

Amid this chaos, cryptocurrency has come to the aid of Ukraine proving its functionality and convenience. Ukraine has received humongous crypto donations bypassing the hassles of a third-party interference.

Even OnlyFans has donated $1.3 million worth of ETH to UkraineDAO, while the BAYC community has also donated $1 million worth of ETH to Ukraine.
