The subscription-based social media platform OnlyFans has donated nearly $1.3 million in Ethereum (ETH) to UkraineDAO.
OnlyFans, led by Ukrainian-American Leonid Radvinsky, announced a 500 ETH donation (approx $1.3 million). Leo is a Florida-based Ukrainian-American entrepreneur. OnlyFans’ total Ukraine-related humanitarian donations are more than $5 million including the current one, and it also plans to send an additional $1 million on March 15th.
According to a report, when OnlyFans made its contribution, the DAO had only half of its 1,000 ETH reserve amount. The 500 ETH donation pushed the total over the top, and subsequent donations began to pour in.
UkraineDAO is a decentralized autonomous organization that raised funds by selling a Ukrainian flag NFT. It was created by Trippy Labs, an NFT studio, and Pussy Riot, a Russian feminist punk rock band whose members are vocal critics of President Vladimir Putin.
A lot of love and support has been shown by the crypto space towards Ukraine which is under an ongoing invasion by Russia. Yesterday, the crypto exchange Kraken also announced that it is planning to distribute a $10 million aid directly to affected clients in Ukraine.
