In Brief:

  • Mega Mutant Serum was purchased by Taylor Gerring, Co-Founder of Ethereum for 888 ETH.

Bored Ape Yacht Club has seen some great NFT deals. And one such NFT deal is ‘Mega Mutant Serum’ purchased by Taylor Gerring, the co-founder of Ethereum, for 888 ETH (currently $3.6 million) on OpenSea.

It is worth noting that this NFT allows the holder to mint a unique Bored Ape mutant, thus resulting in an extremely rare NFT in the Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) collection.

The owner will reveal the mutant Ape with the live drinking of this serum on December 28 at 9 p.m.

Additionally, Mutant Ape Yacht Club is an NFT collection that allows the Bored Ape holders to ‘improve’ their Apes and turn them into mutants. Thus, every BAYC owner can also own a MAYC.

The NFT purchase stands as the most expensive purchase in the past week and 888 ETHs is the most amount ever paid for an NFT on the Ethereum blockchain.

The purchase ranks 20th in the all time expensive NFT sales and ranks first when considering NFT sales in the past seven days. Noteworthingly, the seller of the Serum NFT received the NFT for free, for being a member of the Bored Ape community.
