  • McDonald’s China revealed its first NFT creative work – “Big Mac Rubik’s Cube”.
  • The new NFT is relesed to celebrate their 31st annivarsary in China.
  • McDonald’s China also plans to release 188 NFTs

McDonald’s China released its first NFT creative work named “Big Mac Rubik’s Cube”. On the 31st anniversary marking McDonald’s entry into the Chinese market, the brand new headquarters building on the west bank of Shanghai was officially opened on October 8, 2021.

McDonald’s China also plans to release 188 NFT digital creative works, with “Big Mac Cube” being 1st among them.

The three-dimensional dynamic NFT creative work has been inspired by brand value and its new headquarters structure. The design symbolizes the company’s theme colors of red, orange, and yellow. It represents the five values namely service, tolerance, integrity, community, and family. Also, three keywords of love, technology, and trend.

These 188 NFTs are created to be given as limited gifts to some of its consumers and employees. It is also said to have unique “non-homogenous proof of rights”, to ensure uniqueness and non-tampering.

This has not been new for a fast-food chain company to join the NFT frenzy. Mid-year, Coca-Cola has also auctioned its first NFT collectibles on International Friendship day. Many fast-food franchises like Taco Bell, Burger King, and Budweiser have already released NFTs.

Zhang Jiayin, CEO of McDonald’s China showed his gratitude by describing McDonald as a young and trendy brand that has always followed fashion trends and cutting-edge technology.

He further added – “I am very happy that McDonald’s has become the first domestic restaurant brand to release NFT. McDonald’s China’s new headquarters building is a brand new development of McDonald’s China. Milestones. At this special moment, we use the form of NFT to share McDonald’s innovation, digitalization, and trend art with employees and consumers.”
