Blockchain development platform Alchemy has brought new investors from different industries, according to a Bloomberg report. The company bought this roster of investors to advise and guide the company’s expansion efforts.
The roster of investors includes individuals from the crypto space and beyond. Citigroup CEO Vikram Pandit, onetime chairman of Walt Disney-Jeffrey Katzenberg are a few of the investors that the company bought. The announcement also includes Doordash CEO Tony Xu; Guillaume Pousaz, CEO of Checkout.com; and venture capitalist Vivi Nevo. Though, it didn’t disclose the terms of investments.
“We’re seeing an explosion of new use cases, new types of users, and new products being built with NFT technology,” said Alchemy CEO Nikil Viswanathan. He further added, “Alchemy is excited to play a part in powering the NFT space.”
San Francisco-based Alchemy had raised $80 million from investors in April. Its technology drives more than $30 billion in transactions annually, mostly on the Ethereum blockchain. It handles back-end programming for major NFT platforms including Nifty Gateway, OpenSea, CryptoPunks and SuperRare.
The company raised $80 million in a Series B funding round three months ago, which valued the company at half a billion dollars. The company has seen growth increase about 10-fold since the April fund-raising. The platform launched publicly exactly a year ago.
