CME Group announces new futures contracts
CME Group, a derivatives marketplace, stated on September 22, 2026, that it will introduce Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures. The contracts are part of an expansion of CME Group’s cryptocurrency product suite.
Market participants will have access to standard and Micro contracts:
- Bitcoin Cash futures covering 250 BCH and Micro Bitcoin Cash futures covering 25 BCH
- Uniswap futures covering 10,000 UNI and Micro Uniswap futures covering 1,000 UNI
The new contracts add to CME Group’s existing single-asset cryptocurrency futures, which include Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, Solana, Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche, and Sui. CME Group said the expansion responds to client demand for institutional-grade risk management tools in high-liquidity altcoin markets.
Recent price and historical context

BCH’s 24-hour gain placed the asset near the upper end of its recent trading range. Over the past seven days, the price ranged from $213.37 to $329.73. The all-time high remains $3,785.82, recorded on December 19, 2017. The all-time low stands at $76.93, set on December 15, 2018.
Trading data showed the price had been moving in a narrower band in prior sessions before the sharp upward move coinciding with the CME announcement.
Prior Grayscale filing
The CME development follows an earlier regulatory filing related to Bitcoin Cash. On September 11, 2026, Grayscale Investments Sponsors, LLC, filed an amended Form S-3 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission seeking to convert the Grayscale Bitcoin Cash Trust into a fund listed on NYSE Arca. Form S-3 is a registration statement. The amendment does not constitute approval to list or trade the product.
Contract details and availability
The Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures are scheduled to become available on October 19, subject to regulatory review. Both standard and Micro contracts will be offered. The products are intended to allow participants to manage price risk and gain exposure within CME Group’s regulated environment.
Documentation and further specifications appear on CME Group’s cryptocurrency futures resources. The contracts are listed as block-eligible.
Bitcoin Cash originated as a 2017 fork of Bitcoin that retained a larger block size with a focus on payments functionality. The asset continues to trade on major cryptocurrency platforms alongside the newly announced derivatives instruments.
