Ethereum is attracting more bullish comments than Bitcoin and XRP as crypto traders assess the three assets amid recent market weakness.
In an October 13 post on X, Santiment Intelligence reported that Ethereum has 2.05 bullish comments for every bearish one across X, Reddit, and Telegram, while Bitcoin and XRP are seeing more negative comments.
The difference in sentiment comes as the wider crypto market faces pressure, with many altcoins losing value against Bitcoin.
Ethereum attracts more bullish comments
According to Santiment, Ethereum has become a favorite among traders discussing the market on social media. Its sentiment ratio of 2.05 means that for every bearish comment about ETH, there are about two bullish comments.
These discussions focus on Ethereum’s rebound above key support, growing demand for staking, and hopes for upcoming network improvements. Staking allows ETH holders to help support the network and earn rewards.
However, the positive comments reflect what people are saying about Ethereum, not a guarantee that its price will continue rising.
Bitcoin sentiment turns negative
Bitcoin is attracting more bearish than bullish comments. Santiment recorded 0.82 bullish comments for every bearish comment about BTC, meaning negative comments are more common.
The cryptocurrency faced repeated rejection near $87,000 before falling toward $81,000. Santiment also pointed to heavy liquidations of leveraged long positions and pressure from wider economic conditions.
Leveraged trading allows traders to control larger positions using borrowed funds. When prices move against them, their positions may be closed automatically, adding to selling pressure.
XRP struggles to regain $1.40
XRP is also seeing more negative than positive comments, with Santiment recording 0.92 bullish comments for every bearish one.
XRP’s price fell more than 9% over the seven days, while derivatives data showed liquidations of leveraged long positions, per Santiment. The token also remained below the $1.40 level during the period.
Bitcoin continues to lead the market
Despite the difference in sentiment, Bitcoin has continued to perform better than several major altcoins. Ethereum, Solana, and XRP have each fallen between 2% and 5% over the past 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap (on October 13 at 14:49 UTC).
Data from CoinMarketCap also shows that Bitcoin dominance has climbed toward 59.8%, leaving Ethereum at 11.0% and others at 29.2%. This figure measures Bitcoin’s share of the total crypto market value. When dominance increases, Bitcoin is taking up a larger share of the market compared with other cryptocurrencies.

Meanwhile, U.S. spot Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded a combined $1.221 billion in weekly outflows, according to data from SosoValue. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $679 million in weekly outflows, their largest since late June. Ethereum ETFs recorded another $542 million in outflows over the same period.
Analysts watch interest rates and Bitcoin support
Crypto analyst Benjamin Cowen warned that Bitcoin dominance could keep rising as interest rates increase and the U.S. dollar strengthens. In his analysis which he shared on YouTube, he said these conditions could continue to weigh on altcoins.
Cowen expects lower interest rates and a weaker dollar could eventually help altcoins gain against Bitcoin. He also expects altcoins like Ethereum could continue losing ground for another year or two if economic conditions remain restrictive.
Meanwhile, analyst Kevin identified $77,000 to $83,000 as a key Bitcoin support range ahead of U.S. consumer price index (CPI) data. In his analysis, he said Bitcoin could rise toward $93,000 to $100,000 if the range holds. If it breaks below that area, the price could fall toward $67,000 to $76,000.
Kevin expects a pullback that forms a higher low could help support a more lasting rally in late 2026 or 2027, while altcoins could face larger losses.
