Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest added to its Solana ETF holdings on September 23 while making larger portfolio changes across biotechnology and healthcare stocks.
ARK bought another 5,589 units of the 3iQ Solana Staking ETF (SOLQ.U) through two of its actively managed funds. The asset manager also added shares of Scribe Therapeutics, Beam Therapeutics and Veracyte while selling nearly $7 million worth of Tempus AI stock.
The latest transactions extend ARK’s recent purchases of the Solana-linked fund after the investment manager added SOLQ.U several times over the past two months.
ARK Invest Buys Another 5,589 Solana ETF Units
The ARK Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW) bought 3,888 units of the 3iQ Solana Staking ETF, while the ARK Fintech Innovation ETF (ARKF) purchased another 1,701 units.
Together, the two funds added 5,589 SOLQ.U units, with the transaction valued at approximately $53,877 based on the September 23 trade data.
The purchase is relatively small compared with ARK’s larger equity transactions, but it adds to an existing Solana position held through ARKW and ARKF.
The 3iQ Solana Staking ETF trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange and provides exposure to SOL while staking part of the fund’s Solana holdings to generate staking rewards. The fund tracks the U.S. dollar price of SOL and holds the underlying cryptocurrency in cold storage.
ARK’s involvement with the fund dates back to April 2025. 3iQ said at the time that ARKW and ARKF had cumulatively invested more than $10 million in SOLQ, making them the first U.S.-listed ETFs to gain exposure to Solana and its staking rewards through the Canadian-listed product.
ARK Has Continued Adding SOLQ.U
The September 23 purchase follows several other additions to ARK’s Solana ETF holdings.
On September 5, ARKW bought 1,785 SOLQ.U units while ARKF purchased 1,607 units, bringing that day’s combined purchase to 3,392 units. The Crypto Times reported at the time that ARK was also buying Robinhood shares while trimming Tempus AI and Twist Bioscience.
ARK had made a larger SOLQ.U purchase on August 28, when ARKW added 5,841 units and ARKF bought 3,914 units. The combined 9,755-unit purchase came alongside ARK’s Nvidia and Broadcom buys and its sale of AMD shares.
ARK also added 4,021 SOLQ.U units on September 10, according to subsequent trade tracking data.
The repeated transactions have gradually increased ARK’s exposure to the Solana-linked product, although the individual purchases remain much smaller than many of the firm’s equity trades.
Solana was trading around $117 on September 24 after closing the previous day at $114.99, according to market data. SOL’s market capitalization stood at roughly $67.6 billion on September 24.
ARK Buys $4M of Scribe Therapeutics
ARK’s largest purchase in the September 23 disclosure was Scribe Therapeutics (SCTX).
The ARK Genomic Revolution ETF (ARKG) bought 143,257 Scribe shares worth approximately $4.02 million. The transaction represented about 0.17% of the fund at the time of the trade.
Scribe Therapeutics develops gene-editing technologies, placing the investment squarely within ARKG’s genomics and biotechnology focus.
ARKG also purchased 65,553 shares of Beam Therapeutics (BEAM), another gene-editing company. The Beam transaction was valued at approximately $1.70 million.
The fund added a further 20,908 shares of genetic diagnostics company Veracyte (VCYT), worth about $906,570 based on the reported trade value.
Together, the Scribe, Beam and Veracyte purchases show that ARK’s largest additions for the session were concentrated in genomics rather than crypto.
ARK Sells Nearly $7M of Tempus AI
The biggest disclosed sale came from the ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK), which sold 90,621 shares of Tempus AI (TEM).
The transaction was worth approximately $6.995 million, making it considerably larger than ARK’s latest Solana ETF purchase.
Tempus AI operates an artificial intelligence and precision-medicine platform that combines clinical and molecular data for healthcare applications.
ARK has adjusted its Tempus AI position several times in recent weeks. On September 4, ARKK sold another 20,180 TEM shares as part of a trading session that also included its earlier Solana ETF purchase.
ARKG also sold 2,175 shares of Twist Bioscience (TWST) on September 23, a transaction valued at approximately $358,000.
The September 23 trades therefore continued two trends visible in ARK’s recent portfolio activity: incremental additions to its Solana ETF exposure and larger rotations within its biotechnology holdings.
