MultiversX investigates mainnet issue
MultiversX said it detected a potential issue on the network but did not provide details about its nature.
“We are investigating a potential issue detected on the MultiversX mainnet.”
The project has not said whether the issue involves validators, network performance, transactions, security or user funds.
It also has not disclosed whether transactions or decentralized applications have been disrupted.
The Crypto Times has reached out to MultiversX for further details on the cause of the issue, its potential impact and whether user funds or transactions have been affected.
Further information from the project will be needed to determine the scope of the incident.
EGLD trades near $4.08
EGLD has declined over the past week amid elevated trading activity.
According to CoinMarketCap data shown on September 19, the token was trading at approximately $4.08, down 9.12% over seven days.
Its market capitalization stood at about $125.88 million, while its fully diluted valuation was approximately $125.9 million.
EGLD’s 24-hour trading volume reached roughly $66.02 million, representing an increase of about 950% from the previous period shown by CoinMarketCap.

The token moved from around $4.47 earlier in the period to below $3.80 before recovering toward $4.08.
CoinMarketCap data showed approximately 30.81 million EGLD in circulation.
The price and volume data do not establish that EGLD’s market activity is related to the mainnet investigation.
Supernova launched earlier this week
The investigation follows MultiversX’s launch of Supernova on September 15.
The project describes Supernova as infrastructure designed to allow businesses, brands and machines to access and move money.
“Supernova is live. The Finance Computer is here.”
MultiversX has not linked the Supernova launch to the mainnet issue, and no connection between the two developments has been established.
The investigation is unfolding alongside other layer-1 infrastructure developments this month, including Circle’s Arc network going live on mainnet September 16 — though the two are unrelated.
Other crypto infrastructure developments
The MultiversX investigation comes amid several recent developments involving blockchain infrastructure and digital-asset applications.
Circle’s Arc, a dollar-denominated Layer-1 blockchain focused on payments, tokenized assets and onchain settlement, went live on mainnet on September 16. The network was launched with institutional participants producing blocks from the outset.
Earlier, Grayscale Research recently published an analysis on Zcash, examining whether demand for financial privacy could increase adoption of the privacy-focused cryptocurrency.
The research discussed Zcash’s shielded transactions and outlined a potential valuation scenario if ZEC captured a larger share of the broader digital-currency market. The analysis was a research scenario, not a price forecast.
These developments are separate from MultiversX’s mainnet investigation but reflect the broader range of infrastructure, regulatory and blockchain applications being developed across the digital-asset industry.
What Happens Next
The mainnet investigation remains ongoing, with MultiversX yet to disclose the cause or consequences of the issue.
The project’s next update is expected within 12 hours, although the team said it could provide information sooner if more details become available.
Until then, it remains unclear whether the issue affected network operations, validators, transactions or user assets.
For now, the key developments are the unresolved mainnet investigation and EGLD’s recent market activity, while the Supernova launch remains a separate development.
