Coinbase-backed crypto advocacy group Stand With Crypto has endorsed 32 incumbent members of the U.S. House of Representatives ahead of the November midterm elections, making support for crypto legislation a factor in its congressional endorsements.
All 32 lawmakers backed the House version of the CLARITY Act, which seeks to establish a federal regulatory framework for digital asset markets. The legislation remains under consideration in the Senate after negotiations over ethics, enforcement, state authority, and illicit finance provisions delayed its progress.
The endorsements include lawmakers from both parties, reflecting the group’s focus on candidates who have supported crypto-related legislation rather than on party affiliation.
Bipartisan list includes key crypto lawmakers
Among the 32 endorsed candidates are Republican lawmakers Tom Emmer and Bill Huizenga, along with Democratic representatives Ritchie Torres and Josh Gottheimer. The list also includes lawmakers in competitive districts, including Arizona Republican Juan Ciscomani and Pennsylvania Republican Brian Fitzpatrick.
Stand With Crypto said the candidates were selected partly on their voting records on digital asset legislation. All 32 supported the CLARITY Act when it passed the House.
The group, launched by Coinbase in 2023, has since developed into a broader political advocacy organization representing crypto users and supporters.
CLARITY Act remains a key issue
The endorsements come as the CLARITY Act faces a more uncertain path in the Senate. The House-passed legislation would establish rules for the classification and oversight of digital assets and seek to clarify the respective roles of federal regulators.
Senate negotiations have focused on several provisions, including ethics requirements, enforcement powers, state authority, and measures targeting illicit finance. The bill’s progress could therefore remain an important issue for crypto-focused political groups as lawmakers campaign for the November elections.
Stand With Crypto has not yet announced its Senate endorsements and said it expects to release that list closer to Election Day.
Stand With Crypto says it has 3 million advocates
The organization says its registered U.S. advocate base has grown to more than 3 million people.
Stand With Crypto Executive Director Mason Lynaugh said the group’s role has changed since the 2024 election cycle. He said, “In 2024 we were very much proving that the crypto voter is real. In 2026 we’re very much showing that we have the organizing capacity and that our advocates are a true voting bloc that can move the needle.”
Lynaugh also said the group could influence some closely contested races. “I think we can be the difference maker in some of these.”
Crypto industry spending approaches $189M
The endorsements are part of a broader increase in crypto-related political spending ahead of the midterms.
According to a Citizen report, crypto companies and industry-backed political groups have committed nearly $189 million toward the 2026 elections. A significant portion of that spending has been associated with Fairshake, the crypto-focused political action committee that supports candidates viewed as favorable to the industry’s policy priorities.
The sector also spent heavily during the 2024 election cycle, when crypto companies and affiliated groups directed roughly $170 million toward congressional races.
Crypto policy moves further into election politics
The growing involvement of crypto organizations in congressional elections reflects the industry’s broader effort to influence digital asset legislation through both lobbying and voter mobilization.
The GENIUS Act, which established a federal framework for dollar-backed stablecoins, has already become law. The CLARITY Act remains a major outstanding market-structure priority for the industry.
The November elections could affect the composition of Congress at a time when lawmakers are still debating the scope of federal oversight of digital assets.
For now, Stand With Crypto’s endorsement list identifies the House incumbents the organization considers important to its policy agenda. Whether the endorsements affect individual races will depend on the candidates, districts, and broader political environment.
