Strategy stock (MSTR) surged during Wednesday’s trading session as Bitcoin climbed back above $68,000, extending a broader rally across crypto-linked assets.
According to data from Yahoo Finance, MSTR rose from below $92 to an intraday high of $106.50 before paring some of its gains. The stock was trading at $104.07, up more than 12% over the past 24 hours as of August 19 at 23:39 IST.

The move comes as Bitcoin returned above $68,000 for the first time since June. Bitcoin gained about 6% on the day, while other major cryptocurrencies also moved higher. Ethereum surged 8%, Solana gained 7%, and XRP added 4%, according to data from CoinGecko (on August 19 at 23:39 IST).
Treasury move pushes yields lower
The rally came after the U.S. Treasury announced plans to increase the size of its long-term bond buybacks, raising the minimum size of each operation to $4 billion from September.
The announcement helped push Treasury yields lower, with the 30-year yield falling to about 5.2% and the 10-year yield moving toward 4.65%. The dollar also weakened by around 0.8%.
Lower bond yields can make riskier assets more attractive to investors. Crypto was among the markets that reacted quickly, with Bitcoin and other major tokens moving higher after the Treasury announcement. Crypto-linked stocks followed the move, with MSTR among the companies recording strong gains during the session.
Crypto executives meet Trump at White House
There was also new attention on crypto regulation in Washington, with crypto executives meeting at the White House on Wednesday to push for market-structure legislation that has remained stuck in the Senate since the House passed it 13 months ago.
A White House official said President Donald Trump would host an event with technology leaders as the administration looks to strengthen America’s position in technology and innovation.
Executives from Coinbase, a16z, Ripple, and Chainlink were among those expected to attend, although no public agenda or official attendee list had been released.
CLARITY Act remains a focus
The Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, known as the CLARITY Act, remains a key issue for the industry. The legislation would establish separate regulatory roles for the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
Under the proposed framework, most spot crypto trading would fall under the CFTC, while securities-related activity would remain under the SEC.
Coinbase chief policy officer Faryar Shirzad said the industry wants to finish the work started by the administration and create clearer rules that can help keep investment and innovation in the U.S. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has also publicly backed the bill.
Strategy holds 840,447 BTC
Strategy’s large Bitcoin holdings continue to make its shares sensitive to movements in the cryptocurrency.
The company said on Tuesday that it raised $333.7 million between August 10 and August 16 by selling MSTR shares through its at-the-market program.
The company sold about 3.46 million shares during the period but did not buy or sell Bitcoin. Its holdings therefore remained at 840,447 BTC.
Strategy acquired those Bitcoin holdings for about $63.36 billion in total, including fees and expenses, at an average price of $75,385 per BTC. The company also held a U.S. dollar reserve of about $4.80 billion as of Aug. 16.
Of the $333.7 million raised, $52.4 million was used for dividends on STRC preferred stock, while $132.2 million went toward buying back about 1.39 million STRC shares. Another $149.1 million was added to the company’s dollar reserve.
With Bitcoin back above $68,000 and crypto-linked stocks moving higher, MSTR ended the session as one of the major beneficiaries of the renewed market activity.
