Solana’s cryptic “XRP” video and RippleX’s reaction sent crypto Twitter into full speculation mode, but is there an actual partnership on the table?
Talk of a Solana-Ripple collaboration has been spreading fast since April 15, with X threads, YouTube thumbnails, and group chats all calling it the start of a major cross-chain deal. But is this actually confirmed, or is the speculation running ahead of what both companies have said?
Here is what is known so far. On April 15, Solana’s official X account posted a short video captioned with a single word, “XRP.” Soon after, the same handle followed it up with “time to flip the switch,” and another reply mentioned, “we signed 589 NDAs.” Both are old, popular phrases inside the XRP community, which is why the posts spread so fast.
Then RippleX, Ripple’s developer arm, quote-posted the video with just an eyes reaction. No statement, no explanation, nothing beyond that.
A lot of users took the video, the memes, and the reaction as confirmation that Solana and Ripple are rolling out a formal partnership. Some even claimed an announcement was coming within days.
XRP and Solana already share some rails
It is also worth noting that XRP is already on Solana in wrapped form. Back in December 2025, Hex Trust and LayerZero launched Wrapped XRP (wXRP), a 1:1-backed version of XRP, on Solana and other chains. So some level of connection between the two ecosystems already existed long before this week’s video.
The hype picked up further once larger crypto accounts on X started framing the post as a partnership tease. XRP rose around 3% to $1.40, and SOL moved past $290 in the hours that followed. But price action alone is not proof of a deal.
So, is the claim true?
Not really. As of now, what actually happened is simple. Solana posted a video, dropped two follow-up teasers, and RippleX reacted without a statement. That is it.
So far, there is no official press release, no blog post, no filing, and no statement from Solana Labs, the Solana Foundation, Ripple, or RippleX confirming any new partnership or integration. Brad Garlinghouse has not addressed it publicly, and Ripple’s social channels are currently focused on XRP Community Day and Swell 2026, not on any collaboration with Solana.
There is no confirmed collaboration, no announced integration, and no official word from either side. Until one of the teams actually puts out a statement, calling this a Solana-XRP partnership remains speculation, not fact.
