Key Highlights
- Gate.io has integrated Polymarket to give users a way to trade predictions on sports, finance, crypto, and global events directly within its app.
- Users can access Polymarket through their Gate account with USDT or connect a Web3 wallet via Polygon using USDC.
Centralized exchange Gate.io announced on Tuesday that it has officially integrated Polymarket into its platform, giving users a new way to trade predictions on global events.
In a blog post, the exchange said that it has added a dedicated “Polymarket” section within the Gate app, making it the first centralized exchange to offer direct access to Polymarket. The feature is currently in public beta, so users can try it before a full release.
The exchange said users can buy “Yes” or “No” shares depending on what they believe will happen in an event. If their prediction is correct when the event ends, they earn money.
“From sports and crypto to macro trends, just pick Yes or No and turn insights into returns. Seamless trading, instant execution, and auto settlement into stablecoins, all in one place.” Gate said.
The app also shows probabilities and odds, which are intended to help users understand how likely events are. For more experienced users, it also has charts, order books, and tools that let them trade like professional markets.
Flexible access for beginners and advanced users
According to the announcement, users can access the features in two ways:
- Users with a Gate account (version 8.12.5 or higher) can trade using USDT in their spot account without dealing with blockchain steps.
- Those who prefer decentralized tools can connect a wallet via the Polygon network and use USDC for trading and payouts.
This is intended to make it easier for beginners while giving advanced users more options.
Access to real-time data and smart tools
The announcement said the feature will offer different event categories, including sports, crypto, finance, and featured topics. The platform will show market prices that match the chance of an event happening.
For example, if a “Yes” share is 0.65, the market sees a 65% chance that it will happen. Users can hold their shares until the event finishes or trade them as prices move. In addition, advanced users can see detailed charts and use several order types. There is also a quick trade feature that lets users place orders without going to a different screen.
Gate reported that all positions are linked to spot accounts, so users can see their balance and manage their trades. Winning positions are automatically turned into stablecoins and sent back to their spot accounts.
Why this matters
This integration combines Polymarket’s features and Gate.io’s trading tools. In a world where prediction trading is gaining more interest, the exchange makes it easier for its everyday users to participate without needing to access extra apps. The company also plans to add more types of events to the platform and provide more real-time data in the future.
Prediction markets let people bet on what might happen and see what others think. Usually, this needs a blockchain wallet and extra apps, but Gate makes it easier by putting everything inside one platform. Payments are automated, so users get their winnings once the event ends without extra steps.
