XRP Trading Now Live on Ethereum; Check What It Unlocks for XRP Army

Key Highlights

  • FXRP is now live on Ethereum as a LayerZero Omnichain Fungible Token (OFT), giving XRP direct access to Ethereum’s DeFi liquidity stack.
  • The move builds on Flare’s XRPFi roadmap: FAssets on mainnet, FXRP spot markets on Hyperliquid, modular lending via Morpho and Mystic Finance, and omnichain stablecoin USD₮0.
  • Early social chatter from XRP community accounts frames Ethereum as “one DeFi big league after another” for FXRP and cites David Schwartz’s “anchor” thesis.

FXRP, Flare’s DeFi-ready representation of XRP, is now live on Ethereum via LayerZero Labs’s Omnichain Fungible Token (OFT) standard. The integration allows XRP exposure and trading strategies to access Ethereum’s liquidity and protocol stack.

Flare announced the integration in an X post, noting that FXRP is now available across Flare, HyperEVM, and Ethereum.

The integration means XRP holders can route value from the XRP Ledger (XRPL) into Ethereum-native decentralized finance (DeFi) applications without selling into another asset. Through Flare’s FAssets system, XRP is locked on XRPL and minted as FXRP on Flare.

Their OFT support then lets FXRP move natively between Flare, HyperEVM, and Ethereum with a single transaction path rather than traditional wrapped-bridge hops.

What the Ethereum jump enables for XRP traders

On a practical level, the Ethereum launch opens XRPFi to the Ethereum-based DEX liquidity pools, pairing FXRP with assets like ETH, USDT, or USD₮0 once listings go live. Moreover, it enables collateral use of FXRP inside lending markets and money markets that integrate LayerZero OFTs.

It also supports XRP traders to plan out composable strategies that combine FXRP positions on Flare, HyperEVM, and Ethereum in a single omnichain portfolio.

Flare has already laid much of the groundwork. Its FAssets protocol turns non-smart-contract assets such as XRP into one-to-one representations like FXRP, secured by overcollateralized independent agents and multiple audits, so they can be deployed across DeFi for trading, lending, liquid staking, and stablecoin minting.

Ethereum is not the first “big league” venue for FXRP. In January, Flare and derivatives-focused DEX Hyperliquid rolled out FXRP spot markets (FXRP/USDC followed by FXRP/USDH), giving traders a bridge from XRPL through Flare into HyperEVM’s on-chain order book. Flare’s own recap notes that over 80% of FXRP supply is already locked in DeFi protocols, with a dedicated FXRP bridge designed to push one-click withdrawals back to the XRP Ledger.

XRPFi build-out

The Ethereum integration lands just days after Flare introduced “first-ever modular lending for XRP” via Morpho and Mystic.

The launch allows FXRP holders to deposit into curated vaults and use FXRP as collateral to borrow stablecoins like USD₮0. It also allows them to loop yield strategies across staking, lending, and borrowing, without the need of moving the underlying XRP off XRPL.

Earlier Flare blog posts position this as a multi-step XRPFi flywheel: USD₮0 (an OFT stablecoin fully backed by Ethereum-based USDT) provides the capital base. According to them, FXRP brings composability, and pairing the two deepens liquidity, and deeper liquidity attracts more DeFi activity and yield opportunities for XRP holders.

Beyond retail users, Flare has also moved to make FXRP more institution-friendly, expanding access to FXRP minting and FLR staking through custody specialist Hex Trust and emphasizing repeated audits plus 24/7 monitoring of the FAssets system.

What crypto traders should watch

For XRP holders, FXRP’s arrival on Ethereum is another step in transforming XRP from a largely payments-focused asset into a programmable, multichain financial instrument, while keeping the XRP Ledger as the canonical settlement layer.

If DeFi protocols, lenders, and market-makers adopt the OFT-enabled FXRP route at scale, Ethereum could become the deepest liquidity venue yet for XRPFi strategies.

Key things to track from here:

  • Listings & liquidity: which Ethereum DEXs and money markets list FXRP pairs, and how deep spreads and TVL become.
  • Bridge usage: volumes flowing between XRPL, Flare, HyperEVM, and Ethereum via LayerZero OFT.
  • Risk management: security disclosures, audits, and response frameworks around FAssets and OFT bridges.
