WazirX has officially set new dates for the revote on its amended Scheme of Arrangement. The voting window will open on July 30 at 7:30 PM IST and will close on August 6 at 7:30 PM IST, giving creditors a week to decide whether they want to approve the revised plan.
This revote isn’t coming out of nowhere. It follows a direction from the Singapore High Court, issued on July 16, under case HC/SUM 940/2025. The court asked WazirX to update the original proposal and present it again to its creditors for approval.
If the amended scheme gets the green light from the required majority, WazirX says it will start distributing tokens within 10 business days of the plan becoming effective.
On July 23, the company emailed all scheme creditors with updated documents, including the Notice of Re-Vote, the Amended Scheme of Arrangement, an Addendum to the Explanatory Statement, and the original Explanatory Statement dated March 12. These are all linked in the email and available for creditors to review.
To explain the updates and answer any last-minute questions, WazirX will host a third live webinar on YouTube at 5:30 PM IST on July 30, just two hours before the voting begins.
Creditors are being advised to go through the documents carefully. WazirX also added a reminder that even if a creditor doesn’t vote, they could still be bound by the terms of the scheme if it passes.
This is part of WazirX’s ongoing efforts to close the chapter on the massive hack that hit the exchange in July 2024, which led to the loss of hundreds of millions worth of user funds. The original recovery plan, introduced earlier this year, had to be revised after feedback and legal proceedings. Now, it’s up to the creditors to decide if the new version works.
Legally, the scheme needs approval from a majority in number representing at least 75% in value of those who vote. If that threshold is met, WazirX says it’s ready to move forward with token distribution, just as promised earlier.
Now the clock is ticking. Voting opens July 30, and the final outcome will be known after August 6.
