Wellgistics Health, Inc., a healthcare distribution company focused on innovation, is breaking new ground with its payment strategy. The company revealed plans to use XRP, a digital currency built on blockchain, to make payments faster and more transparent in the healthcare world.
If this works out, Wellgistics could be one of the first public healthcare companies to pull it off.
To fund this big move, Wellgistics lined up a $50 million Equity Line of Credit (ELOC). The money will go toward building a smoother, clearer financial system to dodge the slow banking processes that often bog down healthcare.
“At Wellgistics Health, we challenge the idea that healthcare has to be tethered to legacy systems, bloated intermediaries, and slow-moving money,” said Brian Norton, Wellgistics’ CEO.
“We are developing a platform that connects manufacturers directly to pharmacies and patients-bypassing the red tape and placing control back in the hands of those who deliver care.”
Why choose XRP? It boils down to two things: it’s fast and it’s cheap.
XRP wraps up transactions in 3–5 seconds, while regular bank transfers can drag on for days. This means pharmacies, suppliers, and manufacturers can handle payments almost instantly—a total game-changer.
On the cost side, XRP is a steal. Each transaction runs less than $0.0002, compared to the $10–$30 hit you’d take with a bank wire. That kind of savings adds up fast.
Another big plus is how open XRP is. Every transaction is recorded on the XRP Ledger, allowing users to track payments instantly. This makes it simpler to stay compliant, manage audits, and avoid errors or confusion.
XRP also stands out for international payments, offering incredibly low fees for currency exchanges and cross-border transfers. Plus, it offers XRP-backed credit lines, which can help smaller pharmacies keep cash flowing smoothly.
“We believe that our XRP-powered infrastructure will allow us to run leaner, faster, and with more control than any of our peers in pharma infrastructure,” said Mark DiSiena, Wellgistics’ CFO.
Big names in finance, like CME Group and Mastercard, are starting to see XRP’s value too. Wellgistics is jumping in at the perfect time, setting itself up as a leader where healthcare meets cutting-edge finance.
