In a recent interview with Turkish social media influencers, former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, also known as CZ, shared a fascinating theory about Bitcoin’s mysterious origins. According to CZ, it’s possible that Bitcoin wasn’t created by a human at all, but rather by an artificial intelligence (AI) from the future, potentially even the elusive Satoshi Nakamoto.
“It might be software coming back through time… It’s hard to imagine now, but it could be possible,” CZ suggested, adding that the scenario could be one of the “stranger” answers to the long-standing mystery of Bitcoin’s creator.
However, CZ was quick to emphasize that he doesn’t know the true identity of Bitcoin’s inventor. “I do not know who he is. So, I’ve never integrated with them,” he explained, hinting that while he knows people who were involved in Bitcoin’s early days, the creator remains elusive.
CZ also noted that if a group created Bitcoin, maintaining anonymity would be nearly impossible. However, if Bitcoin was created by a single individual, they have effectively concealed their identity.
Some of the names that have been suggested to be Satoshi Nakamoto include the late Hal Finney, Nick Szabo, and Adam Back of Blockstream. In fact, last year HBO even made a documentary that claims that Canadian developer Peter Todd is Satoshi, but this theory was dismissed by the majority of the crypto enthusiasts.
Although Bitcoin is already a well-known phenomenon, the search for Satoshi is one of the most popular topics in the sphere.
