Phantom, the popular cryptocurrency wallet platform, has achieved a major milestone, reaching its highest-ever rank on the iOS App Store. On Wednesday, Phantom secured the 9th spot in the top free iPhone apps, marking its first time in the top 10.
It outperformed popular apps like WhatsApp and Instagram, which ranked 13th and 14th, respectively. Only TikTok, in 8th place, ranked higher among the top free apps. Additionally, Phantom ranked second among free utility apps on the App Store, just behind Google’s search engine app.
The rise has been impressive, with Phantom jumping from 377th place on Nov. 12 to the top 10 just a week later. The wallet, which started on Solana, now supports Ethereum, Bitcoin, Base, and Polygon, offering users a wide range of features.
Phantom’s team has been expanding rapidly, and in January 2022, they raised $109 million in Series B funding, giving the platform a valuation of $1.2 billion. This was the same day Phantom launched its iOS app.
Phantom’s growing popularity reflects the increasing interest in non-custodial wallets, providing users with more control over their digital assets. With its strong presence on iOS, Phantom continues to be a go-to choice for crypto enthusiasts looking for a secure and user-friendly wallet.
