British businessman Stephen Mollah claims himself to be Satoshi Nakamoto

A London based businessman held a press conference on Thursday, claiming to be the fabled anonymous creator of Bitcoin- Satoshi Nakamoto, however, the event turned out to be a dud after the person failed to bring up any concrete evidence to support his claims.

British Businessman Stephen Mollah held a press conference at The Frontline Club in Norfolk Place, Paddington of London on Thursday, claiming to be the real Satoshi Nakamoto. However, as per accounts of several journalists present during the event, Mollah failed to provide any real evidence to support his claims and rather indulged in outlandish talks about him being a “billionaire monetary scientist.”

A man called Stephen Mollah has taken to the stage. He claims to be Satoshi Nakamoto – the mystery inventor of Bitcoin. He’s claimed this before and is currently in legal dispute about it. He will now provide evidence, he says. pic.twitter.com/XkapPT7y3c

Journalists were invited for the conference after a PR press invite was made viral on social media where a mysterious person was supposed to reveal himself to be the real Satoshi Nakamoto. The conference date was set on October 31 to mark the 16th anniversary of Satoshi Nakamoto revealing the white paper of Bitcoin.

However, as per BBC Cyber Journalist Joe Tidy, the conference began with a shaky start as laptops of organizers had malfunctioned and the conference was held offline. Tidy further added that Mollah spoke about his life and journey for the past one hour and after being asked for proof, showed some screenshots.

Several influencers and journalists on X and other social media sites have suspected the person of orchestrating a fraud as the press conference had allegedly asked 500 British Pounds from attendees.

The dubious press conference in London comes in the wake of a recent HBO documentary claiming developer Peter Todd as a possible creator of Bitcoin. Todd has denied all allegations of him being Satoshi Nakamoto.
