Crypto Firms Unite to Push for Bitcoin Emoji Initiative

Based on a recent report, some Crypto firms have disclosed aims to secure a dedicated Bitcoin emoji on digital keyboards worldwide. Notable members include BTC Inc, Bitget, Brink, Chainalysis, Hacken, Nansen, and Unstoppable Domains.

The initiative, led by Nexo, aims to promote society’s broader acceptance of Bitcoin. This has led to the evolution of new practices and the acceptance of Bitcoin in people’s lives. The campaign will be driven by a 50-day Change.org petition to be followed by a direct proposal to the Unicode Consortium during their 2024 Window site.

Kosta Kantchev of Nexo, David Bailey of BTC Inc., and Mike Schmidt of Brink emphasize the global relevance of Bitcoin and its technological contributions. Other supporters, including Gracy Chen of Bitget and Alex Svanevik of Nansen, highlight the initiative’s alignment.

Industry leaders commend the initiative, emphasizing the symbolic importance of a Bitcoin emoji in representing the currency’s role in the current era. The movement of Bitcoin’s legacy also aims to promote wider understanding and technological progress in digital currencies.
