Automaker Porsche announced its first Web3 project, introducing the NFT collection featuring the 911 at Art Basel in Miami, Florida.
The 7,500-piece NFT collection based on the classic Porsche 911 is set to be released in January 2023 by the luxury sports car manufacturer. Patrick Vogel, a 3D artist, is the creator of this NFT collection, which features digital portraits centered on a white Porsche 911.
The intriguing part is that NFT holders can influence the design of their individual NFTs by selecting one of three core themes of the Porsche brand: Performance, Heritage, or Lifestyle. Owners can then access their individual collector’s items in the virtual world, which are all created by ‘Unreal Engine 5’.
Lutz Meschke, Deputy Chairman and Member of the Executive Board for Finance and IT, said, “This project is an additional element of our digitalization strategy. We’ve made our commitment for the long haul and our Web3 team has the autonomy to develop innovations in this dimension as well.”
The real-life installation on the beach of the Pérez Art Museum Miami by digital artist Chris Labrooy will include a white Porsche 911. This installation is intended to evoke childhood memories of playing with tiny cars to be on display from November 29 to December 3.
“The NFT artworks enable us to take our understanding of modern luxury and the unique brand positioning of Porsche into the digital world,” said Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing.
