The news of Terry Duffy bribing a CFTC official broke out on Wednesday after it was revealed on Fox news. While having a conversation on FTX and the way it collapses. Tucker Carlson raised a question about asking, “where was Gary Gensler, SEC chairman when FTX was mishandling clients’ funds.”
Terry Duffy replied, “I don’t know where Gary Gensler was, but my regulator at the CTFC I bribed, I asked them, why in the world are you invoking the Commodity Exchange Act?”
Duffy may have been wrong in the highly circulated clip, but as of Sunday afternoon, four days after the TV hit, he had not explained. Moreover, the CME group did not come back on the statement.
