Troubled crypto lender Celsius has laid off about a quarter of its employees due to the ongoing liquidity issues. The company fired about 150 employees, as reported by the Israeli media outlet Calcalist. The company’s LinkedIn page currently shows a staff of 651 members.
Only a few days ago, Celsius issued a statement saying, “We continue to take important steps to preserve and protect assets and explore options available to us.”
The company asked its users to have patience as “these exhaustive explorations are complex and take time.”
Celsius halted withdrawals more than two weeks ago and is yet to restart them. Since then the company has hired restructuring lawyers, paused AMAs and Twitter Spaces.
