BCCI Joins NFT Space To Endorse Women’s T20 Challenge

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has joined the NFT space. BCCI announced on Monday, that it is partnering up with FanCraze for the Women’s Twenty20 Challenge. FanCraze is creating a cricket NFT ecosystem.

“We are thrilled to be an official authority accomplice in the Women’s T20 Challenge.” We will develop a brand new and exciting flexible game as a result of accumulating and competing against other women’s cricket NFTs during the 2022 Women’s T20 Challenge.

“This demonstrates what is possible when creators, content, and business are combined, as well as what could have been,” the CEO of FanCraze, Anshum Bhambri said.

BCCI was refraining from collaborating with NFT firms as sponsors for a long time and it had also asked that the executives in the Indian Premier League (IPL) also “keep the distance”. This happened simultaneously when the International Cricket Council (ICC) was inviting NFT organizations to collaborate via actual tie-ups.

“It is all the more interesting that this has begun with women’s cricket in India. It offers a higher level of fan-engagement, which women’s cricket needs at the moment,” people who are tracking developments commented.

Additionally, they said that the BCCI is also planning the women’s IPL and the timing is really good. This will offer a platform for NFT to officially enter the men’s cricket ecosystem in the country and that is a huge market in any sport globally.

FanCraze is also a partner of the ICC and is preparing right now for West Indies cricket.

Football has adopted the NFT space and now the gentleman’s game of cricket is entering too. BCCI’s decision did not come long after Cricket Australia signed a historic deal with Rario.
