Ukrainian Govt to Accept Donations via NFTs

The Aid For Ukraine initiative has launched a new mode of donation to help the war-ravaged country of Ukraine. The government initiative will support non-fungible tokens (NFT) donations and purchases.

The news was tweeted by Mykhailo Fedorov, the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine.

The new big update of @_AidForUkraine website. We’ve added the NFT section: now you can donate or buy NFTs. All funds as always will contribute to the Ukrainian victory. Ready, steady, NFT 👉 https://t.co/x7OscenXCz pic.twitter.com/Zo9hYufHSB

Currently the website features NFTs by CryptoPunks, mfers, MoonCats, TimePieces by the Time Magazine and a few others. These NFTs can only be bought with Ether payments. All the proceeds from the sale of these NFTs are donated.

All the donations go directly towards aiding the citizens of Ukraine. The funds will also be donated to the Armed Forces of Ukraine to help stock up on war necessities.

The Aid for Ukraine initiative has been launched by Everstake, a Ukraine-based company. Everstake partnered with cryptocurrency exchange FTX which receives the crypto donations, converts them into fiat currency and sends it to the National Bank of Ukraine.

The initiative is also backed by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and has raised more than $60 million until now.

Ukraine has been receiving massive crypto donations from across the globe since the Russian attack began. The government itself has launched several initiatives to aid their war measures.

Recently, the government revealed a memorable NFT collection ‘Meta History Museum of War’ to boost its crypto donation. The collection contains NFTs based on the current war scenario and are prepared by both Ukrainian and international digital artists.
