In Brief:

  • XCOPY’s “All Time High in the City” NFT sold for 1,630 ETH.
  • The artwork was last auctioned at $3 million in September and is now worth over $6 million.

Crypto artist XCOPY, famous for his abstract illustrations and motion NFTs, has again grabbed attention with his artwork “All Time High in the City”. The NFT sold for an astonishing 1,630 ETH on SuperRare, approximately $6 million at today’s prices.

Though the NFT was minted way back in 2018, it didn’t come into the limelight until now. Interestingly, in September last year, the value of this artwork was worth 1,000 ETH, that’s around $3 million. In just four months, its value has more than doubled, exceeding the $6 million mark.

The excellent illustration is a fusion of minimal colors and glitch elements, giving it rough-edged, almost stark flickering shades of deep red and black. The NFT is a foreboding depiction of death. It portrays a ferryman as he transports a beleaguered trader to hell in his boat. The image is striking the iconic style of XCOPY with a fresh spooky touch.

Later in 2021, Snoop Dogg, who hasn’t slowed down on the NFT shopping spree, spent a mighty $4 million in ETH to own a single piece “Some Asshole” from XCOPY. Not only that, Snoop Dogg went ahead in collecting his other artwork “Right Click and Save As Guy” for $7 million as well.
