LayerZero (ZRO) gained 16.25% on Monday, October 12, 2026, as trading activity increased and the token approached the $2.50 resistance level.
According to data from CoinMarketCap as of 14:59 UTC, ZRO traded at $2.36, up about 19.64% in a week. Its market capitalization stood at approximately $943 million.

Trading activity also increased during the rally. CoinMarketCap data showed that ZRO’s 24-hour trading volume reached approximately $186.51 million, up 171.6% over the same period. The token’s circulating supply stood at around 399.18 million ZRO. However, the token is still about 68% below its all-time high of $7.47, according to CoinMarketCap data (as of 14.59 UTC on October 12).
Analyst warns of possible price pullback
In a post on X on Monday, crypto analyst Crypto With Gopal identified a rising wedge pattern on ZRO’s daily chart. The pattern forms when the price moves upward between two lines that gradually come closer together. The analyst said the pattern could signal weakening buying strength as the token approaches resistance.
According to the analyst, a sustained move above $2.50 could support further gains, while a drop below $2.00 could open the way for a decline toward $1.20. The analysis also identified $2.60 as another possible resistance level if ZRO moves above $2.50.
RSI points to strong buying pressure
Other technical indicators also showed strong recent buying activity. According to the daily chart on TradingView as of 14:59 UTC, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) stood at 76.14.

The RSI measures the speed and magnitude of recent price movements. Readings above 70 are generally considered to indicate overbought conditions, suggesting that the asset has experienced strong upward momentum. An elevated RSI can indicate that a rally has become stretched and may be vulnerable to a pullback. However, the indicator alone does not confirm that prices will decline.
Pentosh1 points to ZRO’s future potential
Crypto commentator Pentosh1 also pointed to developments that could affect ZRO’s future use and demand.
In an October 12 post on X, the commentator cited staking, gas payments, ATLAS, Stargate fees, and LayerZero’s work with the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).
Pentosh1 claimed that about $100 million worth of tokens had already been bought back before most of the discussed plans went live. The commentator acknowledged that ZRO was near resistance but said, “my belief is, the potential is extremely high and i expect continuation personally.”
LayerZero adds cross-chain security tools
LayerZero has also continued developing its cross-chain security infrastructure. On October 8, the project announced Bridge Sentinel, a security service operated by blockchain security company Blockaid.
According to the project’s announcement, the service checks cross-chain messages for suspicious activity, dangerous addresses, and possible movements of stolen funds before approving transactions.
ATLAS and Stargate plans also shape ZRO’s outlook
Earlier, LayerZero outlined its plans for ATLAS in an August 25 announcement. Under the proposed fee system, 75% of eligible trading fees remaining after venue rebates would go toward buying and burning ZRO, following the market creator’s allocation.
Buying and burning tokens removes them from circulation, although the effect on price depends on actual demand and market activity.
With ZRO approaching $2.50, traders are watching whether the token can move above resistance or face selling pressure. The RSI reading and the resistance levels identified by analysts provide technical reference points, but neither determines the token’s next move.
